Karting Question KartKraft or Kart Racing Pro?
Both are currently $30 and I want the most realistic simulator. Any advice on which on I should get?

Neither, get iracing. You will learn a lot more on that platform.

A simulator really wonāt help you learn anything about a kart. If you want to play for fun, go for it, but In my opinion, their only purpose is learning tracks. But thatās about it.

I know a sim wouldnāt be perfect but just something thatās at least somewhat realistic for fun and just for learning tracks like you said

KRP is the better of the two. It depends on the tracks you are interested in. Also take a look at kartsim.

Thereās a pretty big community around KRP, moddable, but lots of our friends find it unreliable.
Weāre moving to KartSim, which isnāt cheap, but has a lot of work being done on it and feels like it has a lot more of a future.
Kart Kraft wasnāt bad but itās dead now. Whatās funny is SimCraft keeps pushing it on their motion platforms, and Iām like dude itās an abandoned codebase. WTF

It isā¦sorta.
You get rFactor 2 first on steam, then you buy the KartSim license, which for the US pack is about $500 USD.
Then they activate your account, and next time you get into rFactor via steam it downloads.
Itās not for the casual racer, more intended for folks who are racing nationally.
But the US pack is great, track maps are excellent so far, and itās becoming a necessity as a tool for us to prepare for the season. Itās being used as more of a true training platform.
They offer their own sim rigs as well, and K1 is the official supplier in the US.

Iām sorry. Five hundred? Dollars? For a video game? Are you serious?

The full version is this much. There is a reduced "sim racing" bundle for around Ā£40. I think it's all UK and European tracks included.

Thatās the North America pack. Thereās another one thatās less I think, yea.

Thereās a lot more to it than being a āgameā - but this is higher end competition. They were at PRI a few weeks ago with the Briggs racing guys and I know dang well they sold a bunch of this stuff.
They also sell rigs with motion and those go up to like $16k.
Like I said, the software is more for the guys who are doing this nationally as it covers a large number of tracks, with more on the way, online multiplayer and coaching as well.
$500 is a lot, about two sets of tires. But when you get into this at a high levelā¦.$500 seems cheap. Just bought all new sprocket gears and thatās like $300.
Helluva expensive deal, but when the goal is going proā¦.

KartKraft was good at first, but since like a year or so, itās completely undrivable. I play in VR and the lag is crazy

KRP is not the best sim overall, but it's a best karting sim on the market. And it's highly moddable. When I tried it, I thought that this is the best how a kart sim can be.
KartKraft sucks ass. Underdeveloped, buggy mess made by people who want all the motorsport licenses to themselves. Fck you, Motorsport Games, KartKraft is a real depiction of what the fck are you.
