Karting Question Is the Honda GXH50 kid kart engine no longer being produced by HPD?
The GXH50 kid kart engine is virtually impossible to find. It is never in stock. Has HPD officially or unofficially given up on this motor? It seems like no dealer has any clue when they might get them back in stock. They are impossible to find on the used market.
How are people managing the shortage of engines?

Why aren’t people migrating to the IAME Bambino? It’s an actual proper sized engine for a kid kart that requires some throttle control rather than just rolling around in a 206 matted at just above idle? 206 is a ridiculous kid kart package and typically ends up with putting way too small of a kid in a cadet kart to accommodate the engine.
And there is actual inventory of engines and parts for the Bambino compared to the Honda…

My understanding is that they aren't producing that engine anymore. My local club is likely moving to the LO206 for kid karts, but with a longer black slide and added weight. The people who have Hondas can still run those, at least through the end of the year. I believe CKNA is doing something similar, which is what we based our decision on.
