Creative How would the ancient Jewish artisans have covered the Acacia wood with gold for the tabernacle in the wilderness?

What methods would they have used, and if possible, share photos of a similar manual (hand created) process and what it might have looked like.

I would assume it was the gold leaf gilding technique, it was invented thousands of years ago and only requires simple tools and a small amount of gold to cover a large area

I'll have to look into that further. It seems like the process must be something along those lines. Most of the articles of furniture in the tabernacle were "overlaid" with gold. Some, like the menorah were solid gold, of hammered work.

I was/am hoping someone with experience in that type of work would share their thought and experience.

I appreciate your response and will keep looking into this further.
