I would be sceptical about this. Not that it’s not true, they definitely think that, but they would never say it that way. They would never use this word.

This has got to be the work of someone who’s trying to make them look bad (because they are bad). Whoever they may be or how they did it, I appreciate their work.

Nope.

This is a screenshot from the actual article, from my phone. You can see my own phone stats and the link at the bottom.

Isn’t the Negev Israeli territory and also pretty empty? They could just make the desert bloom again

You mean make the desert boom? 😅

Yeah he curiously selectively ignores the idea of the livability of a land space as he talks about all these other countries. I love when people try to use math to make a point, then pretend they don’t know how math works.

Oh and the chart at the end. Idk how it would fit into his “argument”. None of this makes sense.

And you can clearly see here that it was a blog post (look at the URL). The main site took it down almost immediately. This is probably the works of someone who want them to look bad.

Again, they obviously do actually think that, just not in these exact terms.

So the author of the blog is Dan Ehrlich, he’s a London based journalist. He’s got many other posts on the blog. He’s kinda all over the place, seems to recognize in one piece that the ICC warrants are issues because they’ve committed war crimes, not because of antisemitism, but also:

“I personally am not a supporter of the Palestinian cause. From day one in 1948 until the present, the Arab populations of Gaza and Lebanon have helped set up the terrorist infrastructures that have been battling Israel for decades. And, when they get the kishkas knocked out of them, they cry foul.

Yet, now Israel is crying foul over the charges against Bibi and Gallant. To dismiss this as evidence of blatant anti-Semitism on the court’s part is being blind to the scale of death and destruction in Gaza and now Lebanon. It’s also turning a blind eye to the crusade of one man who will do almost anything to appease the radical coalition keeping him in power.”

It does seem like the way he’s using it is possibly more ‘calling it what it is’

I found an old Haaretz article that uses the same term, but also seems the writer might be more using the term critically vs ‘hey this is a good idea’

So I see what you’re saying
