Middle East Hundreds protest in Christian areas of Syrian capital after Christmas tree burned

Just to clarify, the Syrian Transitional Government has said that they have caught those responsible, and that they will pay for the installation of a new tree to replace the vandalized one. It does not seem that this Christmas tree burning was meant to be an assertion of an anti-Christian, anti-Christmas, or anti-Christianity position on behalf of HTS or the transitional government

Gotta make sure to clarify, before folks show up claiming that this proves that Syria is run by "al-Qa'idah Lite" or whatever. It remains to be seen how Syria will be governed, and God knows I have my share of skepticism and early disappointment on some fronts, but it's important to have the facts and be prudent
