Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International investigated Israeli claims of Hamas using human shields (that provide no shielding) to explain the high number of civilian deaths in the 2008-2009 Israeli war on Gaza and in the 2014 Israeli war on Gaza, and found no evidence to support those claims. During the current genocide of Gaza, Israel has not provided any proof that any independent group has confirmed of the use of human shields by Hamas. None.

All 432 Israeli attacks on Gaza hospitals must be considered war crimes in breach of the Geneva Conventions until a separate investigation for each and every attack is carried out. Every individual Israeli attack is required to prove that these hospitals were actively being used by a Palestinian military force for combat operations, or the Israeli government must begin trials for the war criminals who carried out those attacks.

We have detected the use of dehumanizing language. Terms and phrases such as "human shields", "human animals", etc. can deny or undermine the inherent humanity of a group of people. Please be mindful of the potential harms the use of such language can create. For reference, see: Dehumanization on Wikipedia and The real-life harm caused by dehumanising language on BBC.
