Please see the sticky in the sub, this is a pro-vote movement to maximize blue representation for those who may not even vote because they are turned off by joe biden, including electing Joe Biden himself.
the strategy is to decrease Trump's chances of winning by having a robust and contained protest vote in deep blue states, people in swing states may not feel as helpless for voting for Biden. If people in swing states are aware that there is a broader movement in deep blue states, this may give swing state voters more clarity in voting for Biden.
Protest votes are stupid, that's how Trump got elected in 2016 because people didn't want to vote for Hillary. It's either Trump or Biden this election.
No it's not. Hillary won the popular vote. The electoral college screwed her. She took the rust belt for granted (ignoring the reality of the EC). If you gave all the 3rd party votes to HRC she still would have lost. She was also a deeply unpopular candidate with 30 years of baggage but was the announced one of the DNC.
Trump is the easiest candidate to be and if dems lose to him bc they run the guy finding a genocide, with abysmal approval ratings who cant beat a 91 frlony indicted racist and misogynistic life long con man, they deserve to lose. He's kept people off primary ballots, and is screeching again about saving democracy. He hasn't kept his campaign promises and is actively funding a genocide. Remember when he said he'd only run once? Yeah, so do we.
He's putting his Zionism and fealty to Bibi and Israel's murderous fascist Zionist regime over his own base and country. Fuck that guy.
I'm not sure how to respond to this comment without repeating my previous comment, but the overall aspiration is get more votes for Biden in swing states.
I misunderstood, I get what that movement is trying to do. If it means more progressives in deep blue states without increasing Trumps chance at the Whitehouse, I'm all for it.
Yeah the hope is that democrats in swing states will see that there's a broader movement in other places, and may not feel guilty about voting for Biden.

Not voting for Biden only in deep blue states, which may make voters in swing states feel less helpless about voting for Biden. Also, in both types of states, turnout will be better, which will help also house, senate, and local dems.

The protest votes already have seen the start of their momentum in the primaries. The Michigan vote in particular spooked the Biden admin to be adopt some cease fire rhetoric, although it seems to been a ploy and supressing the protest vote .
WalkAway was a Russian disinfo plot to increase Trump's chances of winning.
This is a limited deep blue state protest vote for increase Biden's chances of winning by letting swing state voters feel less guilty about voting for Biden.
I do not in all earnestness believe you are left leaning or believe in the message of that sub.

It was headed down that path, then COVID happened and the entire world shut down for his last term and then he got voted out. Since he left office he's gotten more desperate for power and so have his backers in the country. It's all but guaranteed that if he takes office again women's rights will be set back 60 years among other things. I live in a swing state surrounded by maga Republicans and I see and hear every day how angry and hateful they are, the world will only change for the worse of Trump is voted in to power again.
Its hardly a bed of roses with Biden is it, hes heading us towards WWlll, ideology is the problem, left or right, they use as a tool to cause division, Trump, Biden, different sides of the same coin
Lol you mean r/I want trump to be president again because I don't believe women should be able to make choices about their own healthcare, or vote, and while we're at it let's also get rid of interracial marriage and every social safety net and just for funsies let's try a dictator?

Maybe then the US will consider giving its voters an option. Sometimes things have to get worse to get better. But there is no chance I would vote for Biden. NONE
I find it interesting that a dipshit teenager who smokes weed and plays video games all day, someone who probably can’t point to Israel and Palestine on a map, will contribute more to the Palestinian cause than you will by simply voting blue in the upcoming election.
If you care about Palestinians, and aren't just a performative white e-lefty like so many I've seen before, I really encourage you to vote for the Democratic party over the Republican party. The latter is uniformly pro-Israel and pro-war in Gaza. The Democrats, while Biden is far from great, have representatives and senators who push back against the Zionist genocide.
Don't be a fool and think it's just about two men. It's about cabinets and appointed officials.
Palestinians* there are Christian and Jewish Palestinians as well. And damn, if Biden really wanted to win and since our entire democracy was on the line, and as the current president of the US, you’d think he’d do something about it.
Oh in case you weren’t aware, he’s the president of the United States. He is the one who bypassed congress to send Israel billions of dollars in weapons. He’s the one who could end this all if he wanted to, but won’t.
Not sure why you're being downvoted. Yes, Biden is supporting a genocide whilst he and his colleagues happily collect money from AIPAC & Co, and yes, I'd like to see him prosecuted for that shit, but as sad as it sounds, Trump is still the much worse choice by several magnitudes. All the domestic disasters aside, Trump and Jared would probably build an amusement park or golf resort in Gaza without flinching.
WORSE? Like Trump getting 2 more Supreme Court nods so he can allow the conservative right to dismantle our nation even further? What do you think Trump is going to do for the Palestinians?
if that's what it takes. even if biden wins, 2025 isn't going away, it'll just become 2029 and 2034. and eventually, a republican will win the presidency again. just delaying the inevitable. the minute yall figure that out and get on the burn this shit down train the better

It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see..."
"You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?"
"No," said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford. "It is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?"
"What?"
"I said," said Ford, with an increasing air of urgency creeping into his voice, "have you got any gin?"
"I'll look. Tell me about the lizards."
Ford shrugged again.
"Some people say that the lizards are the best thing that ever happened to them," he said. "They're completely wrong of course, completely and utterly wrong, but someone's got to say it."
"But that's terrible," said Arthur.
"Listen, bud," said Ford, "if I had one Altairian dollar for every time I heard one bit of the Universe look at another bit of the Universe and say 'That's terrible' I wouldn't be sitting here like a lemon looking for a gin.

This is incredible. Could you post in /r/BlueProtestVote ? Preferably with a more detailed title.
