I went to Guyana last summer. It was great. I had around 2,500 in walking money, I spent maybe 3,500-4500 on the trip. But that was a family of four. We did a lot of eating out which can be expensive…. But not really.. majority of time we ate for ~$150 usd with drinks and ate well. We did some sight seeing. It all depends on what you want to do and how you want to get there. Taxis are cheap but it will add up if you’re traveling all over. Also most places take credit so you really don’t have to be as liquid as you think you need to. As for accommodation, I rented and apartment for the two weeks- for $1000usd, but only because I paid for the entire month. 🤷🏽‍♂️ 10/10 would do again.

Where did you rent, in what village or town?

Hey I believe I rented in herstelling? I don’t know the spelling, a couple minutes away from the bridge. The month rentals was way cheaper than any hotel. Marriott wanted $300 a night for four.. like fuck that… I know Airbnb has some decent options and rates… but staying in one location for that long , especially since we would be gone for hours and even days at a time made me nervous… on who was watching us go in and out. The spot I had was in a little gated community..
