TOOL [TOOL] Im 31 years old, recently divorced, and spending the holidays alone for the very first time. So i built a simple self-reflection tool to remind me of all the joys and lessons from 2024. [and its free]

9% of people aged 21 to 34 in the UK spend the holidays alone. At 31 and recently divorced, I’ve joined that statistic this year—and it’s been tough. But instead of letting the season pass in sadness, I decided to build something small to remind myself that not everything is gloomy.

I created Reflectify a mini self-reflection tool where you can answer a few meaningful questions, select your mood, and generate a personalized ‘Year in Review’ graphic to celebrate your journey through 2024. It’s free to use, and if it helps bring a little light to your day, you can ‘buy me a coffee’ to support this side project.

It’s my way of turning a lonely holiday into something meaningful—and I hope it can do the same for you.

It seemed like a great idea to me, no matter what name we give it: tool, diary... that doesn't matter to me, what I find interesting is that in difficult moments you are able to create, to take care of yourself to feel better and spend the moment with a positive attitude, that in my opinion is a lot... I'm going to start with my summary of the year. :)

Thank you, this articulates exactly how I feel.

We have an innate desire to create, make something, and share with the world.

Sometimes that creation can be personal self-destruction but sometimes it’s useful and helpful for others.

The process of doing something useful is far more important than the actual outcome.

I know this is getmotivated, but the lack of options for negative feelings makes the app a bit counterproductive.

Tired, sad, angry, afraid are also valid feelings and should be included.

Thank you for the feedback. I can add that to it. Infact, I will do so tomorrow morning

No problem, I find the idea interesting, but it's not easy to think of everything solo. Cheers.

Sending hugs, my friend :) Just wondering, what's meant to happen after you create the graphic?

Is there a workflow to implement any insights into your future ? Is this more of a "help me process the grief" thing and then you get on with your life? Or do you want this to be a tool that assists you through all you future chapters?

Once again, well done for turning sadness into productivity. Also, don't forget to grieve. It will get you one way or another :D

Cool negativity, bro. Everyone here now sees how cool you are.

What did you create?

'Journal' only sounds unimpressive if it's just a book of blank pages. This here is a self-help book.

I agree. I put all my info in thinking something cool was going to happen but . . . The product were my words with an emoji. I wouldnt mind if the author was clearer about the “graphic” part and that the reflection is the more important part.
