I turn them off or set them to minimal.

The retirements are all scripted and premeditated, and don't make sense.

I found a way to cheese it, if you flashback before the failure pops up you can go a tiny bit further, about 5-6 flashbacks/lap and you can finish races no problem (this worked in '21 but probably still works, just be careful because you need to flashback before the failure and if you wait too much you get the black and white failure screen and you can't do anything but accept your fate)

Just keep doing it. Everytime it pops, flashback. I finished many races doing that haha
