Driftscussion Widebody downsides?

I need to add over fenders or widebody fenders to the front of my car since my wheels stick out after putting the FDF Mega Mantis angle kit on. I want to make the rear as wide as the front so it doesn't look so odd but I learned that the wider stance in the rear would lessen side bite during drift. Does anyone have experience with this? Is the difference negligible? This is for grassroots so I'm not trying to min max everything in the build, but if the difference is huge than I'd rather not do it.

It can lessen side bite yes but you typically make up for that with lower tires pressures, softer spring rates, and more importantly a softer or no sway bar in the rear. I wouldn’t worry too much about it honestly. Big thing is don’t go crazy wide and then only run like a 235 or something it’ll look goofy. Gotta have the right amount of grip for the power you have

I run 18x10.5 rims with 265/35 or 285/35 so I should be good on width. Should I still get rid of the rear sway bar. Also run 5k on BC DS series coilovers in the rear

I would keep the swaybar and see how the car feels. It may get a bit bouncy without it but will certainly have more grip. What kind of car?

I’d just keep the bar for now. Factory bar?

Yea run the bar the car should be just fine like that for a good while. Maybe disconnect it when you want to try something new
