Sfd vs venom motorsports trike

What's up everyone? I've been wanting to buy a drift trike for YEARS. Fell in love with the sfd trike videos in like 2014 and have wanted one ever since. I just saw a new maker closer to me, which is venom in Anaheim. My question for those of you that have riden both is: is the sfd industries trike build worth the extra money? Out the door for the venom trike is 1000+$ less. I'll also throw out there that I'm a big dude, about 330. The venom trike says 350 is the weight limit, and sfd has the "big boy" option which also says 350 but adds an additional 299$ to the price.

Any info or review is appreciated. Thanks

Gearing Question

Post image
4 Upvotes

My current gearing ratio on my electric drift trike allows me to get 51mph out of the 72v 3000w motor (cheap vevor bldc) I have powering it, but its puts noticeable stress on the motor while it's getting up to speed. I dont want to change the gear ratio, because I don't want to lose any mph, but I want to put less stress on the motor.

So here is my idea, and I need to know if this is a good idea or not. Essentially, instead of changing the gearing, I would add a medium sized gear in between the small gear and big gear.

Would this reduce strain on the motor while allowing me to maintain my 51mph top speed?

Build a Drift Trike?

Anyone ever build one of these and have a list of parts needed? I want to build one and don't want to reinvent the "wheel". Need a winter project when it's too cold to go outside. Ultimately I'd like to build a Green Machine with a motor but need to start with a Big Wheel first.

Need some help. Just picked this up from marketplace, guy said his kids used it like 10 times and then it just stopped working. It turns on and lights come on but it doesn’t do anything when you try to go. Any ideas for why it’s not working?

Madazz Trikes

I am wondering if anyone can help please,

I ordered and paid for some items from Madazz Trikes on the 10th of September, other than the receipt for payment I have had no contact from them at all,

I have sent an email to both the addresses I found and also used their website contact page but so far absolutely nothing,

I have no issue if there is going to be a wait or delay for the items,, but I'd just prefer to be kept in the loop if there is an issue fulfilling the order etc,

I have paid by credit card so I know my money is safe if I need to go in that direction but I'd prefer not to, I'd love to get the awesome parts that they advertise and that I ordered,

Thanks in advance for reading and helping if anyone is able to,

Thanks

Razor DXT motorized foot rest placement...

What is the best way to get a sprawled out foot placement on an electric Razor DXT, I know on crotch rockets we call them rear sets, but I think it would be referred to as pegs.

Anyone know better pvc for drift sleeves? The extras that came with the drift trikes I bought seem to wear pretty quick 10inch diameter

I dont love the raised seat but I like the short wheel base. It does the job regardless. Lots of vibration with the predator motor but it works. Also, would love to happen upon a peerless lawn mower differential somewhere free. Perhaps a rear disc brake too.

Electric Drift Trike

The kids and I managed to get this thing running before school started. It’s a Vevor 2000watt motor, Cmax battery for power supply, EBay axel kit, and EBay plastic wheel covers. As a bonus we did reverse with the brake lever. Unfortunately I can only post one video or pic.

Advice appreciated regarding gear ratio and the Predator 212.

Last summer I took the motor off of my first ColinfFurze inspired drift trike build and restored a pit bike frame with the hopes of having more space. Its far quieter to ride an electric trike and the speed of the Lifan 125 motor was wasted on a drift trike.

Now Im trying to make a complete trike that I might sell so that my work on the frame isnt totally wasted. I was hoping to use a Predator 212 as they are easy to find, cheap and when used with a centrifugal clutch far simpler to operate than the original engine which had a suicide shifter and a 4 speed semi-automatic transmission.

Without the airbox and gas tank Im pretty sure with minimal modifications I can make a Predator 212 fit under the seat where the original motor was. I figure with the same compact design it will have the same maneuverability that the original build provided.. which is what i liked most about the Furze style design.

My main concern is that because of the original builds lack of room my 21 tooth 428 chain sprocket will not compensate enough when coupled with the 13 tooth centrifugal clutch sprocket. I fear it will not have the torque required or somehow damage the clutch as a result.

In anyones experience can a 1.6:1 gear ratio still provide enough torque with a stock predator 212, 11" rear wheels and solid axle? Most builds Ive seen have drive sprockets almost as large as the tire but my frame will not allow for that.
