Spoilers Joys POV is hilariously short / “Don’t travel alone”. Comparison Spoiler
If you think about the Christmas special through Joy’s POV is like 15 minutes of knowing the Doctor.
The Doctor bursts into her room, ignores her, the suitcase jumps to her, they have the bomb, then future doctor takes her, they travel the hotel until they get to Dinosaur time, they leave dinosaur time and head to 001 BC, Joy gets to suitcase, tells to Doctor( who she only knew for maybe 20 minutes at this point that he shouldn’t be alone), becomes a star, and then proceeds to go absorb/ kill her mom in the future.
All in all she was barely in this episode.
2) I do know a lot of people compare her don’t travel alone to Donna’s speech but I do want to say while the message is the same the reasons are very different. Donna’s is more impactful because she sees what the Doctor can become without someone to act as a tether to his humanity. Donna’s sees the potential for a heartless/wrathful Doctor. Joy gets her understanding from the Doctor yelling at his future self which again for her happened liked 10-15 minutes ago from when she gives her speech. Donna sees the need for the Doctor to have someone for the sake of those around him, while Joy sees the need for the Doctor to have someone because he himself is lonely and need it for the sake of himself.
Anyway that’s my two cents. Was it a good Christmas Special? No. Did it help add some depth to 15 and was fairly a fun episode? Yes. Far better than Space Babies

Misc Ncuti Gatwa in ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’
Just thought I’d share I saw this last night at the National Theater and Ncuti is unbelievable. Completely steals the show, had the audience eating out of his hand (and laughing themselves off their seats). Could see his ‘doctor’ clear on display, but the more and more I see him I realise what an amazing actor he is.

Discussion I'm watching Doctor Who for the first time and I have to say something. I'm full of joy because of Doctor Who.
SPOILERS FOR S1-3 OF NEW WHO. Don't know if I have to say it but just in case.
In case you don't want the "backstory" I "marked" the start of the main post.
So my Uncle loves Doctor Who and I always was interested in it but never watched it because I couldn't. Now I rent the BBC Player von Amazon Prime and I'm literally binge-watching it since.
It's the most weird show I've ever seen and I love every second of it. I'm now about to start with season 4 (I watched S1-3 in around 1,5 week in every free time possible). I can't help it but I kinda have to watch it it's so addictive.
HERE STARTS THE THING I WANT TO SAY
The one thing I love most about the show is the continuity. Every now and then there are reminders or foreshadowing of things that happened or will happen. Even the slightest things. The biggest thing was the Bad Wolf obviously. At the end of S3 it was revealed that Captain Jack is/will be/was (what is the right term here?) The Face of Boe. I literally laughed out loud, nearly cried of joy and jumping on my couch because it was so cool in every way possible. The Face Of Boe first appeared In S1E2 and at S3E14 we get to know it's Captain Jack while every other show would've forget about one of them already.
I seriously think that this show is one of the best media of all time in many ways and I can't even say why. I hope this foreshadowing and reminders keep on after S4 because I know at S5 it's like a soft-reboot and S1-4 won't be that important anymore but I hope they'll continue with moments like these because thats what makes the whole story feel so alive.
I know maybe I'm weird but I had to share my joy with someone who don't judge about it. And if one community won't judge about weird things it HAS to be the Doctor Who Community. I hope I'll finish the whole show fast to talk about it with you all guys.
This show is FANTASTIC and off we go.

Spoilers Joy to the World oversight Spoiler
Why didn't the Doctor just pop to Donna's house and borrow 14's TARDIS?
Also, there's no reason he had to be alone for that year. Many of his old companions are nearby and several of them work for UNIT, who would almost certainly have some intel that could help the Doctor get back to the Time Hotel. They would at least have a place for him to crash, so no need for the hotel room at all.
Feels like setting this episode in London 2024 was an oversight...
