Rear brakes

Please help! I have a 2009 400S with stock rear brakes. In the midst of learning to do it myself I think I have ruined it myself. I decided to draw all of the fluid from the system from the rear bleeder via syringe so that I could put new fluid in opposite order. My issue now is that I can’t get fluid to move anywhere. I’ve pulled the bleeder out completely and ensured there were no clogs and put it back but still I can’t reverse bleed. I then tried to add fluid to the reservoir and bleed the traditional way again to no avail. I’m not sure what is going on anymore and any help would be appreciated.

How about filling the reservoir and using your syringe to draw fluid through the system? Sometimes it's a lot of work to get fluid to start moving when the master cylinder is dry.

Next time just suck the fluid out of the reservoir, add fresh fluid, then either via your syringe or normal bleeding way draw/pump the new fluid through the system. No need to bleed again that way.

I tried but it almost seems like something either is seized or there’s a something clogged. Can’t get any fluid to move anywhere.

Noted, next time will hopefully be smoother.

I actually had a clog in mine once. I bled the master itself at the fitting where the hose connects to the master then once I could make some pressure I mashed the pedal real hard with the hose disconnected from the caliper and a chunk of solidified brake fluid shot out the end.

This is an excellent video on brake bleeding and flushing the fluid. Worth watching: https://youtu.be/twgmmQ7Livw?si=MmWzJ2ST3wH711EJ

Get a bleeder kit and do it the right way.

I’ve bled brakes on all types of vehicles (3 different bikes and a car) and it was foolproof with short little YouTube tutorial.

To get it back into the system I fill it at the reservoir and pump the brakes. In my experience it takes a hand pump or someone sucking the bleeder tube to initially get the fluid moving through the line.

I did braided lines, pads and fluid on my sm a month ago casually over a couple of afternoons after work.
