Recommendation Looking for a good diner

Good morning and Happy holidays!

Moved down from NYC almost 3 years ago and I have yet to find a good diner down here. If y’all have any recommendations in the greater charlotte area that has diners lmk. I’d look on google but some people amp up reviews 🤣 I live up in Concord so I don’t mind a drive if the spot is 🔥

Seconded. Mattie’s Diner is the old Bound Brook NJ diner building that Matt bought and restored after a hurricane years back. It’s straight NJ/NY vibes and the only place to get a decent Taylor ham egg n cheese sandwich

What's the history on it? I don't remember that being there before.

Here’s a decent article on it from when it first opened over by the music factory! https://www.wsoctv.com/news/matties-diner-serving-up-classic-favorite-in-music/223053811/

After the music factory people chose to build the avidxchange office on the land a few years after that, the diner went into storage until reopening on the Plaza a few years ago with an expanded side room.

That's kinda neat.

It is! I’m kinda biased as Mattie’s become a friend over the last decade-plus, but that all stemmed from loving the diner, so I feel it’s been earned. Dude does some serious grub; also opened The Wafflery in Midwood (which is re-opening late Jan after some building issues).
