Beginner question — What is the purpose when people reply with just a pushpin 📌?

Is it just for their own personal use (maybe they can search in their own replies?)

Or is it being “found” by other services? Like getting added to a feed? And what might those be?

Or something else?

i dont really like it. to me its a temp fix until they implement a proper system
