….and Trump’s answer to the same question: “Our cities are overrun with crime, our borders are lawless places, jobs are being taken by illegal aliens… probably from mars… some people say… I don’t know but they are bad people… our economy is dreadful, the worst it has ever been… and frankly, we were so much better when I was president… what was the question again?”

our economy is dreadful

Fox "News" the other day was showing Trump yammering about how bad the economy is while a stock ticker in the corner was green. They realized about a minute later and took that part of the screen down. lol

At first I thought the headline said 'Trump's finances will never recover under Harris' and thought 'I'm ok with that.'

If Trump had Biden's stock market performance, he'd be saying he's the greatest leader in the history of the world. I mean, he already says that, but this would be one more piece of evidence he'd be talking about constantly.

Earlier this summer he had republicans torpedo their own bill. A bill intended to fix the border issues he’s been raving about.

that man has only tried to fix one thing ever, and that was the election after he lost, and he sucked at that tbf. His minions have affixed their mouths to his lil pig-in-a-blanket, but that’s about it

Because the bill was mainly for funding the Ukraine and Israeli wars. Gotta read the fine print. The funding in the Border bill was divided mostly to fund foreign conflicts.

68

u/Rapture1119 Aug 20 '24

Wrong.

The same republicans passed a bill with that same funding proposal weeks later.

Edit for clarity: passed a bill with the same foreign conflict funding proposals

Also, to add the actual reason he told them to torpedo it, it was literally just so that trump had something to rile up his base around. He created a problem so that he could then convince people he was the only one who could solve the problem. He’s a shill. A schmuck. A self serving, apathetic piece of shit.

You know what makes me so angry about the whole, "Trump had a great economy," point you hear?
Trump INHERITED, like SO MUCH in his life, a GREAT economy that was saved from a recession by Obama, and in turn the Democrats. Was it gangbusters? NO it was LEVELED and MEASURED to keep a boom or bust economy from truly driving us into the Great Depression. And ya know what Trump did? He shit all over it.
He shit all the returns we were getting from somewhat properly taxed corps. The mortgage bust was held by a thin, paper thin, streak of red tape to keep the whole thing from busting. Now we have to compete with major corporations in subdivisions built by the last near fucking recession. What does anyone think will happen under a Republican economy, right now? A loooot of regulations were let loose to allow corps to build back their revenue to keep from a crash, but some corps found loopholes and tax credits, as they often do, to sweep entire markets off the consumer table during these lucrative short months.

Do you bet on the Administration that enforces a somewhat regulatory status against such monopolism, or the one the cut loose all Regulations, and allows these corporations to buy more and more homes to the behest of your own population? Trump sucks at everything. Including the economy.

This is a constant lie the Republicans tell over and over. Democrats leave them a good economy and they take responsibility for it, and then they hand over a shit economy and blame it on the Dems again.

Every. Single. Time.

Pretty much “our economy is the worst it’s ever been. (Doesn’t go into how to fix it) Look at my crowd size. I walked in here I said wow. MLK never had a crowd this big.”

Yes we have inflation. Every country on earth had inflation. Our inflation rate is lower than everybody else's. So relatively speaking we have a good economy..

That made too much sense… you really gotta fixate on a single thing…

Migrant crimes… it’s bad. It’s real bad those migrant crimes. The criminals… from these other countries. They come here as migrants. They do crimes. They come from far away places… like Mexico to do crimes… and the democrats. They’re ok with it. They’re giving them drivers licenses. Did you hear that? I heard that they’re giving migrant criminals drivers licenses. They don’t got the cars. So they get these licenses and they steal the cars. All kinds of cars. Mostly trucks… some cars. Probably SUVs too. Then they sell em back to their home country for Pennies on the dollar. It’s a shame. Real bad crimes. Then they use those stolen cars to bring the drugs in. And Kamala’s not doing anything about it. She’s ok with it. Worst border czar in American history. She’s a failure. Not like me, I was the best at border security. They said Mr president you’re so good at this, how do you do it, I say it’s not hard. Not hard for someone like me. But for her, shes bad….

Right? I feel like it’s been so long since I have heard an actual smart reply to a smart question

Fair point… still waiting on his big beautiful plans for healthcare.

His high school teachers are probably still waiting for his big beautiful, never-before-seen book report… from his freshman year!

I read this in my head using Trump's voice parodied by Shane Gillis.

u/AGsellBlue Aug 20 '24

this is too fckin accurate

u/OneTime_AtBandCamp Aug 20 '24

Not plausible since Trump didn't mention his crowd size.
