META Following the Rules

I'd like to thank the active members of this community. Your vigilance and dedication help keep our sub safe. I saw some nasty comments today directed towards u/thevomitgirl and u/ATXbunnie. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in any way. I appreciate all of the heart and soul they put into this sub. It's up to all of us to keep this a safe place. The next time you see someone point out a rule, thank them for protecting this community. It's a thankless task that is very necessary considering the scammy nature of some Reddit users.

After being chewed out by a few people for saying that I can't drive and needed pizza delivered and not pick-uped (when the offer said nothing about pick-up only); I'm very put off of asking for any more help or even returning the favor.

I rarely visit this sub or see posts from here anymore but I do know that u/thevomitgirl is always an amazing person

You demanded delivery, didn’t bother to ask, and when people called you out on wanting special treatment for no reason you got so offended you are put off on asking for more free help?

Some time back someone was giving away free downloadable albums for free and I got one. If I said “Oh I’d totally take one, but I don’t have a computer so delivering a physical CD is a must!”, don’t to you think I sound a little entitled?

I don't know why my issue of not being able to drive is such an issue. I'm disabled; unable to see well enough to drive and walking for long periods is extremely painful for me. It doesn't help that I live in the middle of noplace with no other people to drive me around.

I don't demand anything. I'm just upfront about my situation and what I can, or can't, do.

Because you go onto a help forum where someone is offering help, then literally say it needs to be delivery which you didn’t bother to help pay for. That would be like me saying “Yeah I’ll take the pizza, but it needs to be specially made sugar free carb free” and then when people call me out, I pull my “I’m diabetic why is my diet such an issue?!” card for pity points. If you can’t get the pizza, why even post you want it if you’re just gonna make demands about how it gets to you?

People are going out of their way to help you on here, from the goodness of their hearts. You didn’t even ask “Can it be delivered?”. You said “I can’t drive so it needs to be delivered”. You weren’t up front about your disability, you didn’t offer to cover delivery, you didn’t bother to explain, you demanded it be delivered just because, when the giver didn’t even need to offer anything to begin with.
