EMOTIONAL SUPPORT Can I get some birthday wishes?

It’s my son’s 12th birthday today and he just informed me that his biological babysitter decided it was more important to go out with friends and leave my son alone rather than celebrate with him. I’d like to show him that people do care and love him. I have less than a month before I will have full custody and things like this make me so mad. Especially when he was told that he couldn’t have a birthday party because it was too expensive.

For context: I live 6 hours away and am driving to stay with him for the next three days and sleep in my car because I cannot believe this father would do this.

If you can this might be worth getting before a judge as proof of emotional neglect. At 12 some places will also let a kid choose which parent to see and determine their own visitation. This is a hard betrayal to get over. I do like biological babysitter also. It's good. One of the things that still gets to me as an adult is the way birthdays were weaponized by my parents. I lacked a healthy or loving option. What you are doing is very important.

For the kid? Happy birthday! May your next one as you become a teenager be the most epic of birthdays and may you have endless cake and presents for all birthdays
