About L.A. Drummer moving to Echo Park, where should I be?
Yo! I'm moving to the area in February. What are some places I should check out to get into the local music scene? I'm mainly a drummer for hip hop/RnB artists currently and sometimes do rock and indie shows. I produce a lil bit and love working in the studio with beat makers/songwriters. Tryna hit the ground running when I get there, any advice is much appreciated ✌️

i don’t know the music scene at all but this place does a lot of shows and i get the feeling people here can point you in the right direction, it’s a cool joint and venue.

The Echo / Echoplex in Echo Park
Scribble (highland park)
Permanent Records Roadhouse
Silver Lake Lounge
The showcase nights at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood are great for networking and are happening all the time.
Are just a few easy highlights.
Also recommend the Instagram accounts @showlist.la and @ohmyrocknessla — showlist is a daily roundup of free shows across the city and will also lead you down the rabbit hole of a bunch of venues and artists. OhMyRockness is similar but for larger venues and mostly paid / ticketed shows.
