I believe that School shootings being an American-centric crime is because all these Europeans know about America is from the news in which they hear about mass/School shootings despite in Europe there was once a vehicle ramming attack in Germany and a mass stabbing in Croatia which happened just days apart.

Add to this a mass stabbing in a school and recent shooting that left 3 people dead in France last week.
