African Discussion πŸŽ™οΈ Gaming in Lesotho

Hey guys! I look at gaming cultures around the world and I am a racing game fan. I have asked all of these questions on different subreddits, simply because I am curious about how each and every single country on this planet experiences video games. I am also curious about gaming in Lesotho. My questions are:

What is more popular? PC or console?

What was more popular in the late 90s and early 2000s? PC or Console?

What racing game was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s!

What do racing game fans in Lesotho play today?-(I get it might not be the most popular genre, but for people who like it, what do they play?)

In general, what games are played there?

Also, since what years has gaming been a thing there?

Thanks for your responses!!!!

I cant speak for racing games or console games, but in southern africa FPS games like CS2 , Valorant, Battlefield and Call Of Duty (Also Rust) have a healthy playerbase and all local servers. Console gaming is easier to get into and have less of a stigma in Africa (computer = nerd).

You shouldnt limit your search to just Lesotho as the country (seemingly when I was Maseru) looked very underdeveloped and I dont think gaming has gotten a large footing yet. I know fighting games and mobile games are big here too.

I have been a online gamer in southern africa for more than a decade and if you have any more questions feel free to reach out πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹

I understand that, I also know SA practically has the same market as the West, consoles like PS, Xbox are big there, just like in the U.S.
