Don't forget their favorite comeback for defunding the police; "What are you gonna do if someone breaks into your house??"

same people with the “WE DON’T CALL 911” signs on the window

I’m a paramedic, and when I go into those houses with stuff like that, I’ll tell them, “looks like you need a new sign now!” The only exemption is if someone is dead, or circling the drain. Because in those situations, I don’t have time to call them out lmao

Remind them the ATF shouldn't exist.

Can you go into more detail about that? I haven’t heard critique of the ATF, usually it’s ICE

Right-wingers instantly turn ACAB when you mention the ATF; the only reason anyone to the right of Reagan doesn't unanimously oppose police is because they haven't connected the dots that it's all their "thin blue line" buddies that are going to take away their guns and (theoretically) put them in FEMA camps.
Calmly explain to them to reality of their circumstances using the ATF, and their shameless harassment of middle-class goobers--because real criminals are scary, as mutual ground to discuss "reasonable" or "common-sense" reforms to law enforcement😉

They have the ero which does deportations and then hsi which focuses on terrorism and human trafficking. They do good work

ATF shouldn't exist; FBI shodnt exist. The best argument for "no cops" or "defund the police" is they can't be trusted with weapons and normal people need to be allowed to defend themselves.

This is literally the argument all concern trolls use but I'll engage on the off chance you're legit.
Police don't solve crimes; people solve crimes; the reality of your presupposition is false considering people lived, and solved crimes, before modern policing.
What everyone means when they say they want to get rid of police is "British-style public security".
We all want the people enforcing our laws to be subject to it; no more paid vacations for brutalizing and menacing the public.
We want our laws to reflect community values; no more federal/state "princes" dictating how we should live and relate to each other.
We want law enforcement by the community, for the community; no more out of town cops showing up to beat people for a paycheck.
And as for the FBI. You're premise presupposes those people would NEVER be caught without them; which is silly when trafficking cases closed make up a minority of cases relative to those unsolved.

A lot them did the same thing here in Fort Worth with Atatiana Jefferson. Suddenly 2A, Castle Doctrine, deadly force laws went out the window when it came to her.

I didn't hear about her. And I normally hear all about shit going on in ft worth

Don't let party lines divide you. It's not left vs right. It's the state vs all of us.
If we're focused on party lines, it will be much harder to tackle the bigger issues.

That's not a conservative opinion. That's an authoritarian opinion.

u/iceboxlinux 2d ago
Same thing.
Conservatives are authoritarians.

And no liberal has ever been an authoritarian? How many libs wanted censorship and cages for the unvaxxed during covid? How many wanted children taken from their parents over covid? How many want rights taken away from EVERYONE due to the abuse of those rights by a tiny number of Americans?

Covid conspiracy nonsense.

Good point and covid restrictions somehow didn't apply to lefty politicians that needed their hair done or their boat on the lake

The number of conservatives who aren’t pro-cop is very, very small, even so-called “libertarians”. Pretty much every time someone’s killed by a cop, they will bend over backwards to justify it.

u/Rufneck382537 1d ago
No lies detected. Sadly. But I am definitely one of those anti-cop libertarians.

I haven't heard any conservatives say this, and I hang out with quite a few.

u/chrono4111 2d ago
Perhaps the fact that you "hang out with quite a few of them" should tell you something.

Conservatives: no one's gonna tread on me! Fuck the big government! This is a free country!
Also conservatives: love the troops! Support the troops! Always do what cops say! If a cop says you did it then that means you did it! Cops are always right!
