Request /r/3FrameMovies' True Romance Banner Contest Is Officially Underway with Big Prizes — Are You In?

Update Our Banner & Win Cool Stuff

The grand prize winner will...

  • have their submission become the new banner for /r/3FrameMovies
    &
  • receive their choice of either 6 months of Reddit Gold or an Imgur Pro Account for 1 year + 2 months of Reddit Gold, or an Amazon Gift eCard or a Papa John's Pizza eCard or the equivalent value in Bitcoin (each choice ~$30 USD)
    &
  • be granted user flair similar to 'Best of 2013'.

This contest is open to everyone. However, if this is your first time submitting something, you also will be granted your choice of unique user flair & either Reddit Gold or Bitcoin as described in our other contest sticky just for participating.

I would like to get at least 5 - 10 of you involved before we start posting anything. The more, the merrier.

Here's what to do next if you plan to participate…

  • Leave a comment below starting with "I'm in," or some other definitively positive confirmation so that I have a headcount. Also state either "I'm done," or "I'm working on it." There's no rush here. Quality definitely counts. I'll leave this stickied for enough time that anyone who wishes to get in on this can.

  • Once you have finished, edit your comment saying, "I'm done," and send me a PM or message the moderators.

  • Let me know if you have any questions or need something clarified.

  • If you would like help making your submission, send me a PM and I will be more than happy to help you put your idea together. You may find it helpful to go through the tutorial which is the red link in the sidebar, "How To Make a 3 Frame Movie."

  • Don't be concerned about whether you should make it vertically or horizontally oriented; I'll make the actual banner. Just keep in mind that it is a new visitor's first impression of what /r/3FrameMovies is all about. Your submission should have that "nailed it" feeling. Avoid character death and using too much text/subtitling; none at all is best.

Once everyone has edited their comment to say, "I'm done," I will PM everyone when to post. We'll plan on a specific day to make another post like this one and open it up for voting.
(Contest mode where downvotes won't count.)

The following are four albums of many high-quality screenshots roughly dividing the movie up into:

Act I
The Sicilian Scene
Act II
Act III

[NEW] Here's a link to a multitude of screenshots in .zip archives to give you more ideas. Thanks /u/5000et.

If there any in particular that you would like pre-cropped and in high-quality, PM me and I'll add them in to the albums.

Again, if you have not yet seen True Romance, it's a must-see. And because it's not on Netflix, here are a couple cheap, links to rent it:
On iTunes & Amazon.

Here's the script.

Request [3FM][Request] Sex and Gender

3FM of your favorite movie about gender roles or sexual behavior? 3FM of your own experience with gender/sex? 3FM parodying or trolling gender/sex?

Make it funny or make it existential. Either way, let's see what you got.

Request [3FM][Request] 3FrameMovies exhibit for a particular movie.

While I love looking at these frames, I can't help but feel that once a movie has been done, THAT was the only way it could have been interpreted. I think 3FM does a great job for making frames on plot, character, themes, and much more--yet it seems ONE 3FM for ONE movie.

I think a cool thing we could do is 1) pick a movie 2) send the 3FM to the admins 3) admins make a collection and post it at the same time.

Just throwing it out there. Thoughts?

Not really particular, but I'd like it to either revolve around "Boy With Apple" or Willem Dafoe or whatever you think works best.

Request [3FM] You can now [Request] a 3 Frame Movie! Plus an important message if you are a new subscriber

Self posts are now allowed as long as it's a request or suggestion for a 3FM.

  • Do not put anything in your title other than:
    [3FM] [Request] "Movie title" (year)

  • In the body of your post, you should be descriptive enough with which scenes should be in which frame so that someone could go straight to those parts and take screenshots.
If you can find some examples of what you're looking for in /r/fullmoviesonyoutube or http://youtube.com/user/movieclips, link to it mentioning the minutes/seconds when a particular scene occurs.

  • Don't feel obligated to suggest all 3 frames. Let the collective genius of the community help fill in any blanks.

  • Comments should be of a constructive nature to help further refine the OP's idea.

  • Anyone who fulfills a request should link back to the original request in the comments.

I've been thinking about adding user-selectable link flair to this in some way to make it useful so any suggestions are welcome.

New Subscribers

The tag [3FM] is a warning that SPOILERS are allowed in this subreddit. While scrolling /r/front or /r/all and you see that tag on a movie you have not seen yet, think twice before looking at it. Don't be like Michael.

When the thumbnail alone might spoil a movie, OP can cover it up using the SPOILER button but it only looks like that inside of /r/3FrameMovies; outside it's the familiar NSFW thumbnail which inevitably causes confusion with SFW submissions.

Lastly, please don't downvote submissions if you have not seen the movie. Give it a chance to be seen by others who have.

If you'd like to discuss this idea or /r/3FrameMovies the subreddit, (CSS, ideas for improvement, questions, etc.) do so below or message the moderators.

Request [3FM] [Request] "Minority Report" (2002)

These are the three frames I am thinking for "Minority Report (2002) with Tom Cruise.

1st: Cruise is stopping the husband from stabbing his wife with the scissors.

2nd. Cruise is aiming the gun at Leo Crow

3rd. The old man who started Pre-Crime is aiming the gun at Cruise.

I hope this was enough information. As someone who has seen the movie many times theses scenes pop in my head.
