Ahh man. I remember OG Halo before Xbox Live. Hooked our OG Xboxes up to our PCs and ran GameSpy to play online over dial-up. Great times.

Man I miss gamespy! Met so many amazing people in the game lobbies when looking for servers. Was sad when it died, so many games died after the servers closed

You can play through gamespy on an Xbox one?

I meant the OG Xbox. This was back in 2002 or so. You installed GameSpy on your PC, then hooked your Xbox up to the PC.

That came at a later time, I believe. We were using GameSpy Arcade and GameSpy Tunnel.

This is incredibly cool

Was it worth destroying an entire community built trust and losing the entire digsite team to do it?

I’m not sure exactly what you mean but if it’s the general Halo community it’s been dead since Infinite

Digsite was the team responsible for getting a large amount of community creations and mods done for MCC through first party support. Because a member of that team decided to leak this, the company is killing the initiative.

Considering I’d never heard anything about this before I’m gonna say yes for me personally

So it’s good that the community will never have access to first party tools for modding ever again got it

I never said that it was good but if the only thing of note to come from it is this leak then how bad can it be?

This team is the reason the original E3 Halo 2 mission was restored and released. But glad you got to skim over fun facts so an entire community is worse off

See I didn’t even know that happened so Halo needs a better PR person also what community 99% people dropped Halo after they failed with Infinite

Digsite was probably going to fall apart anyways since that team was doing all the work they did without getting paid

We wouldn’t have the original E3 Halo 2 mission without them

Yeah and? They can’t exactly keep doing work without being compensated for it. They have rent, food and other expenses to cover. Especially since it was community people and not people properly employed by 343/Halo Studios

So glad you’re speaking for them. Shutting down an entire team won’t make it a job for them, and only took opportunities away.

No I’m referencing tweets made by former members who left cause they couldn’t justify doing what Halo Studios wanted from them and be able to live

Got it so because those members had a problem all other people shouldn’t have the opportunity? I’m so confused by your logic thinking this is a good thing

Sad to see digsite team is dead
