Imagine a world where this is the normal interaction between different cultures

Fooking-Degenerate’s comment implies that hostility is the status quo.

PlatypusOfWallStreet’s says that that notion is incorrect and that it’s merely the negative interactions that get the spotlight.

TIL that racists don’t exist and are a fabrication of the media’s. Could have sworn there was a major ethnonationalist movement in my own country. /s

i eat at a jewish pizza place every week although im not jewish. i guess the rule is no meat with cheese. so they make vegetarian pizza only. still damn good.

Some of my favorite pizzas are vegetarian!

u/barryandorlevon Oct 22 '22

My local grocery store has a store brand pizza with goat cheese and zucchini on it that is absolutely delicious.

2

u/4ha1 Oct 22 '22

I can't think of a better pizza than margherita. Nothing beats the classic.

My favorite!

Close, but no. The only difference in kosher food is that it’s prepared in a holy way by rabbi. There can be supreme Italian meat combo kosher pizza somewhere, but Jews also can’t eat pork product so no piggie pepperoni.

26

u/barryandorlevon Oct 22 '22

I’m actually impressed by how r/confidentlyincorrect you are, but part of Kosher food absolutely includes a rule that you can’t mix meat with any dairy products at all. I am not Jewish but I thought this was fairly common knowledge.

u/GenericSubaruser Oct 22 '22 edited Oct 22 '22

There actually is a rule about not eating animal products with the animal they come from. I've known different people to take the meaning a little differently- some take it to mean no beef with dairy, no eggs with chicken, etc. But others just straight up will not combine meat and dairy at all.

Edit: just wanted to add for people's information that there are actually a lot of rules about what makes food either kosher or halal (very similar but not quite the same). The above point, but also the animal has to be slaughtered and butchered in a respectful way that is intended to prevent suffering and out of sight from other animals, with a prayer thanking for its sacrifice, removal of blood, and not eating certain kinds of meat and fish, are all rules found in both kosher and halal food preparation.

Are we not going to talk about the window sign for Nutella Pizza?

5

u/MrkPrchzzIII Oct 22 '22

Yeah I noticed it too. Like is this the place where Nutella pizza was invented?

This is lovely

1

u/PraetorImperius Oct 23 '22

I appreciate his willingness to learn and see other cultures equally. We lack that open-mindedness in the states. That has a lot to do with the tribalism we have going on.
