Announcement🗣 Announcement: This subreddit stands with Ukraine and its citizens. A quick update on our rules and moderation methodology during times of conflict.

Tragically, Russia recently commenced an armed assault on the independent nation of Ukraine. Our subreddit is a Humanist subreddit with the primary mission of documenting humanity and the world as it is. We do not condone violence nor do we approve of any governments that engage in offensive wars of aggression. We must remain true to our morals and will stand with the Ukrainian people during this hard time.

Due to the complex nature of war and conflict... we will be moderating these posts with a few additional rules in order to ensure documentation of the conflict while avoiding potential problems:

  • Do not condone violence. That means don't make silly jokes about hurting any national leaders. Even though we all feel that anger towards the old men who force the young into conflict... I don't want any of our users getting slapped by the admins for violating TOS. Keep those feelings inside and reflect on them... please don't type them out.

  • All videos involving death must be marked NSFW. Please try to find news sources to accompany the post if possible to include in the comments. These posts will be subject to removal at moderator discretion to protect our community if needed. These are human lives being shown on film... please take the responsibility of your upload privileges seriously.

  • Do not make videogame jokes on conflict videos. We don't care how much it looks like Call of Duty or any other videogame. We don't want to see comments like that here. This isn't a game.

  • Do not advocate or promote the destruction or annexation of any nation. This rule is for some of our suspicious bot friends that have been stopping by to make modding more complicated.

  • Do not put your life at risk to RPAN livestream. You only get one life. Our subreddit mission is to reduce harm… so do not put your life on the line for fake internet points. Your life is too valuable.

  • Do not livestream Ukrainian military positions using RPAN. We had an informative RPAN livestream lead by /u/jesterboyd who sat down and took the time to talk to us about the reality on the ground in Ukraine. If you choose to stream from Ukraine, please be mindful to not broadcast any Ukrainian military positions. He spoke about this during his livestream and described how it is important to protect the locations of the people who are defending their homes. Please take this rule seriously because it is probably the most important rule.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while we mod the subreddit during this conflict. Please take care of yourselves.

Dear Ukrainians!

I heard on social media that there is fake news being spread (most likely by Russia backed trolls) that polish border is closed.

It's a lie.

If you seek asylum - go towards polish border. We are ready for your arrival. We have reception points ready at the border where you can find shelter, food, medical and legal aid.

Polish government launched a dedicated site to help you: ua.gov.pl

Please share this information if you know anyone seeking help right now.

YOU DON'T NEED VISA TO PASS THROUGH POLISH BORDER. ALL YOU NEED IS PASSPORT. VISAS ARE SUSPENDED! YOU DON'T NEED THEM FOR TIME BEING!!!!!!

proof that you no longer need visa:

• in Ukrainian https://www.gov.pl/web/udsc/ukraina---ua • in English https://www.gov.pl/web/udsc/ukraina-en

copied from /u/everysir to spread awareness! please spread on relevant threads to get the word out!!!

RPAN stands for Reddit Public Access Network I believe. It’s like live-streaming but with a Reddit account.

Our users who have Reddit mobile can livestream live events anywhere in the world using RPAN. We have had redditors stream protests, war, everyday life, and academic interviews for our members. Its a very underrated tool on Reddit that doesn’t get much utilization for news sadly… we hope to change that slowly at r/worldnewsvideo.

RPAN - Reddit Public Access Network.

It’s just a live streaming service that Reddit has in the app and website.
