Yes thatâs exactly how they feel they are all above the law itâs a bunch of bullshit thatâs why I think our laws are a joke and I donât follow most of them

There's no fucking limit. These fucking monsters have no sense of shame or decency. They steal from their cities, rob people of their rights, and murder with impunity. Fuck them.

No surprise at all that it is Cops doing it.
130
u/Vash712 Jul 31 '21
How much you wanna bet nearly everyone of those cops has stopped someone for the same plate blocker?
44
u/printergumlight Aug 01 '21
Where do you think they learned of it and where do you think they got them for free?
26
u/Zak-Ive-Reddit Aug 01 '21
Holy moly browsing Reddit is so much better now everyone has switched their brains on as to the reality of late stage capitalism and cops
13

2
u/defundpolitics Aug 01 '21
Late stage capitalism, you're so brainwashed. It's neo-feudalism and you late stage capitalist people are feeding it.
1
u/Zak-Ive-Reddit Aug 01 '21
Uh, no, no, Iâm pretty sure people destroying the planet and not paying works a decent wage is out of greed for profit - not out of some false pretence of âtheir lotâ and âdivine right to ruleâ
2
u/defundpolitics Aug 02 '21
That would be Neofeudalism
1
u/Zak-Ive-Reddit Aug 02 '21
Just no dude, check Wikipediaâs definition or something:
Broadly defined, it was a way of structuring society around relationships that were derived from the holding of land in exchange for service or labor.
The king owns all the land in his kingdom, but he lends land (fiefdoms) to Barrons in exchange for troops in times of war.
The Barrons then give lands to the knights and the petty lords - again, in exchange for them showing up in times of war, as well as them producing stuff from that land (which the Barron can tax).
The knight then gives much smaller chunks of land to peasants, in exchange for them using the land to make grain/other marketable produce and paying taxes - and the peasants in turn get to live in that domain, the knightâs protection (and the wider force of law) + job security.
I couldnât find a great image but thisâll do
https://image.slidesharecdn.com/themiddleages-150304164615-conversion-gate01/95/slide-9-1024.jpg
Now what element of land do you see that makes you think this is modern feudalism?
1
u/defundpolitics Aug 02 '21
That's feudalism not neo-feudalism dude
1
u/Zak-Ive-Reddit Aug 02 '21
So how is neofuedalism different, and why is it responsible for the current state of things not capitalism?
1
u/defundpolitics Aug 02 '21 edited Aug 02 '21
There are some great articles out there about it including one by a communist scholar I think her name is Jodi Cobb.
Neo-feudalism is wealth extraction and consolidation targeted at the middle and working classes.
One thing Cobb does not talk to but eludes to is the fact the neo-feudalists are using propagamda based on Marxist doctrine to keep the focus on capitalism and not systematic wealth extraction. I'd go two steps farther and say they're using Marxist doctrine to both divide people and attack middle class capitalism and are camouflage their political agents as socialists ie Marcon, Trudeau, Biden.
Cobb also has some interesting insights into the occupy movement and how it was coopted by state sanctioned social media sock puppets.
I'm more libertarian than collectivist but her theories align a lot with insights I've come to independently even they don't align perfectly due to ideological differences.

u/hotrodruby Aug 01 '21
How does government employees avoiding a government mandated till have anything to do with capitalism?
-1
u/imwatchingyou-_- Aug 01 '21
It doesnât. Theyâre braindead.
1
u/Zak-Ive-Reddit Aug 01 '21
Fr youâre like âwhat does cops breaking laws have to do with copsâ?
LSC I admit was irrelevant to this example, I mentioned it because itâs something Iâve generally been seeing more of on Reddit - thankfully
1
u/Zak-Ive-Reddit Aug 01 '21
Late stage capitalism isnât relevant to the video shown, itâs just Iâve noticed Reddit has (thankfully) gotten way more sceptical of the rich lately - there are very few âstep on me and steal my surplus value Elonâ types left.
However, to the other point, did you seriously just ask me what does a video showing a bunch of cops breaking the law out of greed have to do with cops?

How much to cross the GW bridge? Last time I was in NY it was $15.50
54
u/Artic144 Jul 31 '21
It's was $16 when I was there last week. Shocking considering I'm used to paying $8.05 for the Golden Gate. Shocking because the roads around it were still shit.
6
u/LtDanIceCream2 Aug 01 '21
Yup! Which is hilarious because the town that it runs through (my town) has great roads. Very clean, well manicured. Terrible drivers. But nice. heading in and out of the city? AWFUL. I actually hit something on the road so badly while getting off the bridge that it popped my tire and tore it off the rim, basically. Awful.
2
Aug 01 '21 edited Aug 01 '21
The bridges and tunnels in and out of NYC are run by the Port Authority not the city government so none of that toll money goes into citywide infrastructure.
-66
u/K1tch3nW1tch Jul 31 '21
Sure what these guys are doing is wrong. There are plenty of non police vehicles with these covers as well, but you donât see her pointing them out. Agenda Agenda Agenda. The cost of these tolls is what is criminal. These guys just found a loop hole.
48
29
u/SonofScrimp Jul 31 '21
Good to know the police have no responsibility to uphold the laws theyâre tasked with enforcing in your mindâŚ
-23
u/K1tch3nW1tch Jul 31 '21
Where did I say what they are doing is ok? All I did was point out that the news reporter is only pointing out police vehicles. There are an enormous amount of vehicles owned by civilians that use the same plate cover. Anyone who uses that is using the loop hole. Obviously the fact that police, who should be upholding the law and are breaking it, should be held accountable, but this reporter makes it seem like only police is doing this. The entire toll business is a scam. While I pay mine when I need to cross a bridge or travel an interstate, I recognize the balls it takes for those who choose to risk driving with that on their car.
23
u/treetyoselfcarol Helpfulâď¸ Jul 31 '21
Because police officers should be held to a higher standard regarding the law. Since they're the ones that enforce it.
9
11
u/The_Nest_ Aug 01 '21
Itâs not a fuckin loop hole itâs literally a crime.
-10
u/K1tch3nW1tch Aug 01 '21
One more time and then Iâm done with the lot of you. I am not condoning this. Simply pointing out the obvious here. This story is meant to point out the police and ignore everyone else who is doing the same thing. Did they get away with it? Loop hole. Do they continue to get away with it? Loop hole. No where am I saying itâs the right way to act, but people are doing it and getting away with it. As technology changes for our convenience, so does the creativity of people who want to break the law. Donât hate the players, hate the game.
11
u/The_Nest_ Aug 01 '21
Nope not a loop hole itâs literally against the law, it is a crime, itâs not an ambiguous gray section itâs flat out a crime not a loop hole where they âmightâ be wrong.
8
u/SonofScrimp Aug 01 '21
Yeah, I feel like heâs misusing the term loophole for an illegal act thatâs just largely unenforced due to its wide spread useâŚ
2
2
u/Colonel-Cathcart Aug 01 '21
Serious question with all due respect, don't you think it's valid to hold them to a higher standard?
1
u/SSundance Aug 01 '21
Everyone in this thread is aware that civilians might use plate blockers. Anyone who uses them is wrong.
A Police officer using a plate blocker on their personal vehicle while simultaneously writing tickets for civilians doing the same thing, is worse than civilians using them.
4
u/Erotic_FriendFiction Aug 01 '21
I think, when it comes to the agenda argument, itâs imperative to hold those whoâve sworn to uphold the law to a much higher standard.
If they canât willingly abide by the law theyâre being paid to monitor/defend, then the average civilian canât be held to a Different standard. Thatâs absurd.
Either youâre a LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER or a charlatan running around in a uniform literally breaking the law.
I imagine everyone under your âagendaâ blanket is held to an unrealistic standard in your mind, but yeah sure police-civilian whataboutism is a great basis for an argument. đ
2
u/anivex Aug 01 '21
I think the point is, when non-cops use those covers, they get in trouble, while the cops do it freely because they won't arrest their own.
2
u/valoopy Aug 01 '21
Hey question: is it true that well done steaks and boot taste the same? Youâd be the expert.

u/Vash712 Jul 31 '21
Under my rule tolls will be abolished!
2
u/Wrong-Paramedic7489 Aug 01 '21
Can we toss taxes in too?
1
u/Vash712 Aug 01 '21
Your first 100k is tax free and no property tax on your first home, the 100k is adjusted up based on increases to the CPI, probably also gonna nix sales tax on everything cheap. There will still be sales tax on stuff like Ferraris and yachts lol
2
u/Wrong-Paramedic7489 Aug 01 '21
Got my vote hahah
1
u/Vash712 Aug 01 '21
Yeah I did just lose that key yacht Ferrari demo thats like a 1000 votes right there lol
1
u/devinnunescansmd Aug 01 '21
For like a month? That surely couldn't be per day because there would be riots I'm sure
1
1
u/myusernameisokay Aug 14 '21
Itâs $16 cash per trip but you only pay it going eastbound. Itâs slightly cheaper if you have EZ pass, which most people do. Keep in mind that the GW bridge connects NJ to NY so people paying that toll are typically commuters who live in NJ and work in NYC.
1
u/devinnunescansmd Aug 20 '21
That makes sense. I would expect to pay random amounts of money to go to and exist in New York city for any length of time. I'm from a much larger, flatter, spread out state and if a road randomly charged money to use, people would lose their minds. I feel like employers should hand out ez passes but again, idk how life in a big city operates but here, 16 dollars a day, even 5 honestly, would be a significant expense for most people

The problem is that theyâll ticket you the instant you touch the white line even if you stop, and in some places they deliberately shorten the yellow light to ticket more drivers.

This post in itself is evidence that Americans are not trying to conceal imperfections and problems in America. It would be foolish to suggest that America has complete transparency; however, the freedom to talk about it - like here online - helps to raise awareness about issues. Awareness and talking is a great way to start the process of change. I'm not saying it's easy or that true equality exists; it's nice to have some way we can begin to address an issue.
7
u/RayMosch Aug 01 '21
Oh they do whatever the fuck they like on the basis of those dashboard placards. The Placard Corruption account on Twitter does a good job of observing and reporting their wanton lawbreaking across NYC. But yeah walk around any precinct in New York and you see a ton of illegal window tints, illegal plate covers and the intentional defacement of plates. It's quite common to see them without front plates, which are legally required here. They also use their placards to evade parking fees where there's metered parking. The low-tier NYPD traffic agents (meter maids) are too afraid to issue tickets when they see one of those placards, even though they're required to.
6
u/fountainscrumbling Aug 01 '21
Police should get triple the punishment that civilians get for doing this. They're supposed to enforce the law, not break it. If they cant follow the law, why should anyone?
1
1
u/PermanentAnarchist Aug 01 '21
They failed to stop the criminal (themselves) so maybe they shouldnât be payed for the time span in question? Obviously didnât do their jobs then

Honestly, why even put tolls on roads? Don't they make very little money for the state?

"Tolls help pay for roads." Then why is my road covered in potholes and ruts?
3
u/juneteenthjoe Aug 01 '21
Good. Those tolls already paid for those roads and shouldâve been taken down years ago.
3
u/prince_0611 Aug 01 '21
I was about to agree with that because why make public roads just to toll people thatâs a scheme. But then I saw it was cops doing it and was like bruh

I mean police is not gonna fund itself. No really, if you wish to defund police, the officers will refuse to give money to government back. It's understantable.
Also tolls do not fund roads, it funds shitty politicians and their expensive lifestyles. Straight back to pre-french revolution days. PAY FOR ME SERFS

If you live in the city you know they have always gotten away with that scam. I got a ticket once many years ago for having a cover which I thought was for keeping the plate from getting damaged. Took it off immediately but saw that law enforcement vehicles didnât abide the same rules.
