I was in special education classes until fifth grade.  My school was terrible, it failed everyone but it especially failed me.  My first grade teacher wrote all of our names on our desk to learn to spelled them and misspelled my last name.  The system thought I needed to be in special ed for that reason alone.

My fifth grade teacher was kind and he let me read the books I wanted to read, above a fifth grade reading level.  He quickly realized I never needed to be in that class and took the time to catch me up to my peers in the upper classes.  That next year I was out of special education.  Who knows where id be if I was left to rot in those useless classes if he didn’t exist.

It’s not about being famous, it’s about inspiring someone in a small or big way.
