Palestine and Lebanon will stand regardless.

So will the refugees go back home now or is that not a plan?

Probably not right away, but if the new government can create stability and safety for the next few years, Iā€™m sure plenty of Syrian refugees will return (mostly from Southeastern Turkey).

Well thatā€™s all one can hope for.

Thereā€™s no apparently about it, he absolutely did - but jihadist Salafism backed by Turkish and Israeli imperialism isnā€™t the solution.

They are celebrating an ending of torture and mass murders. If you're not a syrian and were not a subject of these events please keep your opinions.

The dude that founded Syriaā€™s Al-Qaeda cell and worked in hand with ISIS will surely bring an end to torture and mass murder, his rebels are cool CNN told me so

Yeah the dude that killed 300k+ and tortured many more and then went the extra mile to displace 12 million people is awesome

He clearly isnā€™t, so why are you celebrating the group that wants to do the same thing again? Is it because theyā€™re gonna do it to people YOU donā€™t like? Have a bit of soul, good lord

Well "He clearly is not" back at you too then. You claimed i celebrated them. Syrians deserve to be happy to be free from the monstrosity.

You are trying to predict the future and i am telling you people are celebrating what they knew was true hell. How are they supposed to fear what they yet to experience if what you claim to happen is true.

It's day one, everyone is making statements and writing papers like they have lived the tortures. I lost two uncles in this shit. People are happy the prisoners are back even if Satan himself had freed them.

Have some empathy, not because some people might wear hijab means we get to dictate what they want and how they should behave.

Leave Syrians alone.

Israel just invaded and expanded their annexation of Syria and Turkey is now going to do the same and they are putting ISIS in power as collaborators with both. This is like replacing Mussolini with Hitler.

israel already invaded. What are you going to do about it?

1

u/ChatterMaxx 17d ago

Israel invaded under Assad too, they literally occupy the Golan Heights and Assad and his family didnā€™t do shit to get it back.

4

u/Party-Childhood-6332 17d ago

they went even further now.

Can someone give me a good unbiased rundown of whatā€™s going on in Syria? With all this Ukraine and Israel Palestine stuff I kinda forgot about it.

HTS (Al-Qaeda, isis) took over Syria and Bashar ran away to Russia.

Israel attacked Syria and is occupying even more land.

Al Julani (HTS leader) used to behead Iraqis when he was part of isis, and used to plant explosives when he was part of Al Qaeda.

Now he rebranded himself using CIA as ā€œmoderate rebelā€ and he was saying ā€œhe was young and wild, and he learnt from his mistakesā€¦ā€

Give Syria few months and we gonna go back to seeing beheading and random killing of civilians that are minorities.

Druze for example already started to arm themselves.

r/climatechange is turning the nation into a desert and they are fighting over the scraps.

Yeah, we know who instigated this (it wasn't the good guys.) I'm sure Israel, the US/UK and ISIS are smirking at the sidelines...if not wholly involved.

Assad wasn't the 'good guy'....but nor are these guys who are funded by people who don't want peace for Syria or its people.

Dictators get toppled so I've got no issue with that. However not only are HTS a rebranded Al-Qaeda affiliate, they are sponsored by: Ukraine, Turkey and Israel. Probably especially Israel considering they just declared a Ceasefire with Hezbollah. Ukrainian mainstream media was open about their sponsorship of HTS rebels when this first started. However the Ukrainian govt denied this allegation coming from a Ukrainian journalist. I tend to trust muckrakers over governments though.

Given all that I sincerely hope a less repressive regime comes to power. HTS are Islamists but not as much as wahabbis or the taliban.

Edit: Israeli military has already sent a bunch of soldiers info The Golan Heights. It could simply be a precaution or it very easily might not be that. Israel bombed Syria a few times since the latest Gaza war, just nowhere near as much as Lebanon or Gaza.

Does that mean they can go back to Syria now? I know the answer to that, of course they wonā€™t. They left and got a taste of the forbidden fruit of the West
