It's unfortunate that Israel owns POTUS... apparently...

80

u/giantyetifeet Nov 04 '24

It's weird because they also own Trump. And they definitely prefer Trump to win. 🤷

It's weird because they also own Trump.

Not weird if you consider the possibility that they contribute a lot to both parties's primary campaigns, so they get to choose the nominees (or at least reject any that might question them).

u/NoReplyBot Nov 05 '24

so they get to choose the nominees (or at least reject any that might question them).

They get to choose lol.

Just edit that part of your comment out… better yet delete the whole thing.

1

u/Ruthless9r Nov 05 '24

Yeahhh I don't think your comment is turning out the way you think it would....but sure go off lmao

u/lordoftheBINGBONG Nov 05 '24

No we own Israel and unfortunately like a bad dog or a shitty child, we are responsible for it.

Just letting a bad dog off the leash while it’s aggressive or just letting a shitty kid run around while it’s acting up is just bad for everyone.

18

u/Appropriate_Ant_4629 Nov 05 '24 edited Nov 05 '24

No we own

If that were true, they'd be paying the US taxes (like when the UK owned the American colonies).

Instead, the US is paying for their universal healthcare.

0

u/lordoftheBINGBONG Nov 05 '24

Right just like you pay for something that you own. We pay for all of NATOs free healthcare too so they own us as well?

1

u/heheratorixfan Nov 05 '24

It's weird how Israel has become such an important topic for US politics. And how they can do everything, and they are backed by the US, and then also have such a powerful lobby, which is funding for only pro Israeli politicians to get to power in the US. Receiving money from the US for just existing. US starting wars just for Israel, and so much more. I wonder who owns who.

2

u/smoresporn0 Nov 05 '24

It's not weird at all. It's a Western imperialist outpost in the middle east, this is exactly what it was designed to do. And we will keep paying handsomely to maintain it.

To be fair anyone with deep pockets enable to sway the pendulum of democracy in the United States. This is nothing new, Russia owns the green party, Israel uses APAC to regin in politicians feom all sides. China, Russia and Iran constantly wage hacking and disinformation campaigns.

There is no perfect choice but I for one have decided to look at the whole picture and come to the conclusion that my own nihilism will not help carve a path for future generations.

There is avery high chance of this being the last election in your lifetime. While I won't say how to vote I will kindly implore you to do so, for if we don't the great experiment that is the United States will cease.

With it will all of the progress that has been seen will be washed away in a dystopian fever dream unmatched by any other.

3

u/DevilDoc3030 Nov 05 '24

I hear yah.

While my support has traditionally swung to both parties in the past, I can assure you that I am pretty against the fascist-theocracy (among other things) vibe going on.

The United States has been in a state of perpetual war since Vietnam. This is not a new and driven by the military-industrial complex, which perpetuates unspeakable horrors for profit, domination, and control.

This being said it is imperative that we prevent conditions from getting worse. From where I stand, we must contribute to change, and resist being seduced by apathy. Every small effort matters. It is our responsblity to empower each other and pave a path forward safeguarding the rights of future generations.

I'm pretty sure they have some dirt over him with epstein

1

u/Zaichick Nov 05 '24

Yes. Would be surprising if they didn’t.

-2

u/ArchdukeFerdie Nov 05 '24

Huuurrr deerrrrrr conspiracy go brrrrrrrr

-1

u/Elpsycongroo_ Nov 05 '24

That's why she said "everything in my power" she's not lying..she just has no power to do anything about it.

36

u/dashrendar2112 Nov 05 '24

Bring the hostages home?

Even the fucking Israelis don't want the hostages home. They've been bombing the shit out of them.

9

u/JumpingCicada Nov 05 '24

Anyone who doesn't see it at this point is blind. There are so many reports from Israeli soldiers saying that they were told to not care about hostages nor civilians behind any buildings and just blow them them up with tank shells.

2

u/deadleg22 Nov 05 '24

The ones they have rescued also show empathy for the Palestinians.

74

u/zappawizard Nov 04 '24

Well the other guy is definitely not going to support Palestine in any way shape or form, so what choice do they really have?

12

u/mattbladez Nov 05 '24

Unfortunately not everyone comes to this conclusion. They think that if they don’t vote they can’t be held responsible for what happens next.

I’d vote if I could but the whole “being Canadian” thing really doesn’t help.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '24

If you were watching your family being burned alive by Israel, and the response from your party's candidate was "But Trump", would you be swayed?

0

u/rjimene666 Nov 05 '24

Same as harris

18

u/RelationshipLevel506 Nov 04 '24

Wait...there's still hostages alive in all that rubble?

4

u/winningdraggon69 Nov 05 '24

Israel stopped pretending to care about the hostages months ago. They occupy all of Gaza; if they wanted to take back the hostages, they would have.

11

u/Wooden-Science-9838 Nov 05 '24

This should have been a cake walk for the Dems. Goes to show what they really stand for.

18

u/speakhyroglyphically Nov 04 '24

"The final stages of Kamala Harris’s campaign for the US presidency have included a push to win over voters who may turn away from her because of US support for the war on Gaza.

7

u/digital-didgeridoo Nov 05 '24 edited Nov 05 '24

Color me jaded, but is this only because Trump went and met the Muslim bloc in Michigan?

-34

u/Dariuslynx Nov 04 '24

She's a joke

16

u/Blastonite Nov 04 '24

Ye cause big orange fucking cares about anyone not stroking his ego lol.

21

u/kamratjoel Nov 04 '24

They are both jokes. Orange dude is straight up evil, and republicans are just insane, but the dems are a party of cowards.

Kamala is obviously a better choice though. Shouldn’t need to be said.

It must suck for Americans to have to vote for the lesser evil all the time because voting for any of the other candidates will end up favoring the conservatives, and lots of people will suffer if they get the power.

3

u/HusseinDarvish-_- Nov 05 '24

orange man and coconut lady are both genocide supporters

3

u/TinyNeff Nov 04 '24

Lol People on Reddit don't want you to talk negative about Her . Shes a Joke . He's a Joke

12

u/awesome-o-2000 Nov 04 '24

Who’s currently stopping Palestinians from dignity and freedom? Who’s currently taking away their sense of security…it’s you Kamala lol

-7

u/DeerOnARoof Nov 05 '24

It's Biden

3

u/Red-Bearded-Fox Nov 05 '24

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Biden is the current president and we are seeing his policy backing Israel’s warcrimes.

3

u/nurse420 Nov 05 '24

Gaza is not the only issue as an American we have to worry about. What about saving our democracy, defeating a racist, cheater and woman abuser!

12

u/Beezelbub_is_me Nov 04 '24

Gotta get that Muslim vote! None of them want the conflict to end. War is business and the business is good.

24

u/_Cest_La_Vie_ Nov 04 '24

Rage bait comment. Move along. The only "business" doing well in this is the American weapons sales.

10

u/Pattern_Is_Movement Nov 04 '24

The "only business" wtf are you on, 40% of the worldwide spending on the military industrial complex was the US ALONE!! Nearing ONE TRILLION DOLLARS!!! Give me a break,

22

u/Beezelbub_is_me Nov 04 '24

Isn’t selling weapons part of the business of war?

29

u/_Cest_La_Vie_ Nov 04 '24

It's not a war, it's a genocide.

-1

u/chuc16 Nov 04 '24

Isn't picking the candidate most likely to respond to your will the point of elections?

11

u/Beezelbub_is_me Nov 04 '24

The people in power don’t care about us. The parties are two sides to the same coin. They don’t even have platforms anymore just identity politics.

2

u/chuc16 Nov 04 '24

The parties are clearly different. Their policy, priorities and actions are dramatically dissimilar

A lot of very wealthy folks spend a lot of money to make you apathetic about democracy. The less you care, the more influence they have

2

u/Beezelbub_is_me Nov 04 '24

I’m not apathetic and I grew up in politics. Are they though? They tell you what you want to hear

8

u/chuc16 Nov 04 '24

Yeah, that's called politics

We aren't picking the "perfect leader". We're picking the person we want to protest for the next for years

I'd prefer not to be black bagged by a dictator for trying

4

u/Beezelbub_is_me Nov 04 '24

I’ve been voting for the lesser of two evils since I was eighteen. It’s depressing. The democrats have changed so much since then as have the republicans. Imagine if we had the social media of today back when we invaded Iraq. I got in deep shit at school for talking about how none of the hijackers in 911 were Iraqi….. Now we should respect a Cheneys opinion?

9

u/chuc16 Nov 04 '24

Harris invited Cheney to campaign events to show that even the most conservative politicians see Trump as such a threat to democracy that they have overlooked policy differences to endorse Harris. They literally said that on stage, multiple times

Keep voting for the lesson of two evils. It works

2

u/Atomico North America 🌎 Nov 04 '24

She literally said she wants to secure Israel. The world's way past that point. So no

8

u/chuc16 Nov 04 '24

She also said she wants to secure Palestine. Weird that you didn't catch that

2

u/DontchaKnowNoGood Nov 04 '24

She asked why would she vote for Harris? Does she think Trump will do better? Trump has already said Isreal should do whatever it wants to do. He wouldn't help Palestine unless they paid him billions. So what is her real option? Vote Harris and hope the war will end soon? Or vote Trump and watch Palestine be wiped off the face of the earth?

1

u/Unusual_Specialist58 Nov 05 '24

We know with Harris we’ll get more of the same which is saying one thing to try to appease people while doing the opposite and continuing unconditional support for Israel.

We are less sure about how Trump would handle it. He says he wants peace in the Middle East. He’s obviously also an Israel supporter but it seems like he would be more likely to strong arm Netanyahu into working towards peace.

2

u/Sharabi2 Nov 04 '24

She’s not convincing anyone

1

u/Igennem Nov 05 '24

Cheap talk a day before the election when her admin can't decide if North Gazans even deserve food.

1

u/deadleg22 Nov 05 '24

I just get sick of any reference to these hostages, many of which have been killed by Israel. Israel doesn't give a shit about them and that shows by the indiscriminate bombing and the killing of their own people on October 7th. Also there was something like ~300 hostages, that's fucking nothing compared to the 200k (probably more) innocent people Israel has killed.

1

u/memedealer22 Nov 05 '24

Why hasn’t she done this already

1

u/pealsmom Nov 05 '24

I am going to respect the Muslim lawmakers who deeply understand that the only argument that makes sense is to vote for the candidate, Harris, who is most likely to be moved in the right direction. I believe that Harris is saying what she has to say to get elected - which is the really unfortunate part. For the last 76 years, presidents and candidates for president have had to de facto support Israel in order to win. This election is no different, but I can see a very near future where it is different and we could have some nuance in the conversation.

I also don’t appreciate how this woman is somehow being blamed for a decision that her male boss has made and continues to make. She is part of his administration and has to outwardly support his administrations policies, but she was not on the tarmac hugging Bibi. That was Joe.

u/VarietyMart Nov 05 '24

"everything in my power"
-i.e. I do not have the real power on this

1

u/AH0LE_ Nov 05 '24

The lack of interest in this post is crazy..then I remembered it's Reddit.

1

u/personxam Nov 05 '24

As long as she stops giving Isreal money, that would end it

1

u/palilevant Nov 06 '24

The last blow was Bill Clinton taunting Arabs, Palestinians and Muslims in MICHIGAN 🤦🏽‍♀️

1

u/Different-Excuse9891 Nov 05 '24

End the war that tbags started. Facts mean nothing to the ignorant. If tbags gets in he will ramp up the genocide without doubt.
