Apparently overnight the American government decided that Muslims are the new African Americans.

On one hand, I am thankful that social media exists. On the other hand, I am terrified to witness the rapid degeneration of my country in real time.

Good luck with your country, youā€™ve elected the wrong money hungry people for too long. And now you donā€™t have liberty or freedom.

17

u/GideonPiccadilly Apr 26 '24

we only have two parties of money hungry people

while one is worse than the other both are by and for the wealthy

7

u/originalbL1X Apr 26 '24

Those two parties are actually one.

2

u/Any_Constant_6550 Apr 27 '24

such a lazy stance that requires zero thought

0

u/CatSpydar Apr 26 '24

Oh boy here we go with the enlightened centrism.

8

u/Temporary_Visual_230 Apr 26 '24

They aren't wrong. Both parties use each other to further divide literally everybody

5

u/Any_Constant_6550 Apr 27 '24

trump was the most divisive president we've ever had and the entire right wing strategy is to manipulate its base with fear and convince them which marginalized groups are the cause of their problems and make them kick down. Democrats have actual policy positions that vastly differ from the right. Healthcare, student loan forgiveness, and infrastructure policy aren't used to divide.

u/originalbL1X Apr 26 '24

Tell me, which party is going to stop Israel from indiscriminately killing non-combatants and committing a genocide? Which party is not accepting bribes from AIPAC? Which party is defending these peaceful protests and the right to free speech? Which party is doing something about the police state we find ourselves in. Which party isnā€™t lying through their teeth? When it comes to real issues, there is no difference. The only differences youā€™ll find are on the issues they use to divide us, to keep us at odds with each other while they pillage the world. Itā€™s just kayfabe. Bernie seems to be the only one in touch with his conscience.

Yeah, these guys claiming two somewhat different groups are both equal and just as bad as each other annoy me. Apples and bananas are fruit yes, but not the same.

3

u/frankydank1994 Apr 26 '24

They are both equally vile, people clinging to the belief that one party is "better" than another are the reason things will never change.

0

u/Any_Constant_6550 Apr 27 '24

one party is drastically different than the other and aligns much closer with left leaning politics.

1

u/frankydank1994 Apr 27 '24

Your so worried about us vs them. I'm telling you the only us vs them scenario that exist is the people vs the ruling class. Both political parties are ran by the same people, the ones funding the campaigns. And if you trace money back far enough it only comes from 3 to 5 people in the world. BOTH PARTIES ARE JUST DIFFERENT COGGS IN THE SAME GEAR OPERATED BY THE SAME PEOPLE.

ā€œIm just one voteā€ said 200 million eligible voters.

2

u/Any_Constant_6550 Apr 27 '24

the next time someone doesn't think their vote has a lasting impact, remind them about SCOTUS.

4

u/Frosty_Slaw_Man Apr 26 '24

We can't do a thing to change anything; it's only primary season not the actual elections. /s

21

u/brundlfly Apr 26 '24

We did in fact just let it happen. We're the leading global model for selling unfettered capitalism and muffling the downsides, mainly by dumbing down and dividing the populace to drown out dissent. Smart dissenters/organizers often get targeted, and indifference/defeatism is encouraged. Our power is in numbers, and each of us must make a gut check on how much we're willing to put on the line to do something about it. Going straight for a gun is a great way to get taken out. We need to learn how to successfully push back: https://beautifultrouble.org/

u/TheShorterShortBus Apr 26 '24

dont forget we ban any outside competition, and only promote American ones so that we only give absolute power to, who in turn fucks us anyway with their greed and buying up politicians. competition would have prevented a lot of this, but that ship has sailed long ago

Nice try mister CIA. I'm not giving you my ip address by going to that website. /s

Edit: Added a /s for clarity.

Paranoia kills. Test it on a VM with a VPN.

10

u/aykcak Apr 26 '24

It is only fair. I mean I get shit on the internet all my life because of Erdogan, yet I haven't voted for him or any of his cronies. I protested, got tear gassed, helped campaigns etc and when it didn't work, I emigrate to a different country but still get shit on because of him because that is apparently how this works...

It is fair that western countries citizens get the same treatment. It goes both ways

1

u/MonkeyMagic1968 Apr 26 '24

Hey, congrats on the most recent election results, though! Looks like the opposition is getting more attention.

4

u/aykcak Apr 26 '24

Thanks I did it all by myself

Joking aside, it is the local election, we don't know if that reflects on the general election or it is just a fluke

1

u/MonkeyMagic1968 Apr 26 '24

Didn't the opposition win in some Erdogan strongholds? I know - you did it all by yourself, just like the person next in line and the person five people behind them. :)
You guys are lucky that at least some can see and recognize the machinations of the ruling party. In the States, the main party on the so-called left blocks any dissent and scuttles any competition whereever they can.

3

u/GideonPiccadilly Apr 26 '24

with any kind of proportional representation your vote is instantly so much more meaningful than under a two party winner-takes-all regime

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

Lol you think elections are legit lol

1

u/z1lard Apr 26 '24

Voting hasn't worked for a couple of decades now, it's the same people behind the scenes. The only thing voting counts for is culture war points, which is still kinda important but not enough.

0

u/paperwasp3 Apr 26 '24

And the actual election of people to a job.

If you don't vote then nothing good will ever happen. The shitweasels in politics want you to not vote. It's what keeps them in office.

3

u/z1lard Apr 26 '24

My point is a lot of (not all) outcomes remain the same regardless of who gets the White House job, and that voting doesn't affect as many things as it should. I'm not saying not to vote.

2

u/paperwasp3 Apr 26 '24

Okay that's a fair take. Corporations are the real problem. And yet we still need to vote or they will take that away as well.

Just arrested for peacefully protesting at a university campus.

America: The land of "liberty", home of the "brave" and "free"

Also... Look up Kent state.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

I mean we can pull out examples for a ton of different countries. Germany just arrested protesters just for speaking Irish.

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

3

u/dungeonsNdiscourse Apr 26 '24

Yep. You sure got me, you intelligent pinnacle of humanity who surely isn't a disappointment to their family!

Just because America is "better". Than say... North Korea isn't the win you think it is.

I mean your country is a joke when it comes to education and healthcare.

The only thing is does really well is murder a lot of people all over the world. I personally would want my fellow citizens taken care of and educated before blowing up another brown person half a world away.

But I'm silly like that

Americans jump straight to xenophobia when their worldview is challenged

0

u/paperwasp3 Apr 26 '24

That's incorrect. SerenimSunny hasn't shown xenophobia.

2

u/dungeonsNdiscourse Apr 26 '24

MY Russian friends? Please if any western country is friends with Russia it's the USA and it's traitorous gop members.

And, I mean If we're keeping score between the USA and Canada... We burnt your Whitehouse down in 1812. So... Canada 1 USA 0

Also, FYI there sparky you are woefully incorrect about how healthcare works in Canada. Which tells me that you know NOTHING of how universal healthcare works.

Just Stay in your uninformed lane of ignorance.

2

u/amandahuggenchis Apr 26 '24

How far are we from that when there are currently snipers on the roofs of colleges and they are aiming at protesters?

Donā€™t know what point you are trying to make here, but if you think that America escalating its military engagements will make less people talk about America in ā€œevery thread in every postā€ I have a bridge to sell you

Yes, American soldiers militarily occupying 178 out of 195 countries is probably the single biggest reason why the majority of the world hates us. I would not be bitching if we didnā€™t station troops everywhere, that is a primary policy that I want to see enacted. You dope. You think this country is so special and pure that any and every criticism is made up by dastardly foreign agents? You think our uncritical and fullthroated support of genocide endears us to the people of the world?? You think our flagrant violations of international law, particularly where our military is concerned is just propaganda???

ā€œIraq is the new Blackā€ was a real slogan in the early 2000s

20

u/aykcak Apr 26 '24

Apparently overnight the American government decided that Muslims are the new African Americans.

September 12 vibes...

They haven't managed to recover from that yet and now this

9

u/trophy_74 Apr 26 '24

African Americans are still treated the same/worse, it's just that muslims are treated like they were post 9/11 as well now

9

u/Freodrick Apr 26 '24

overnight? i didn't realize 2001 was yesterday

1

u/Iandudontkno Apr 26 '24

Yeah overnight on 9/11. Rapid degeneration from what slavery and genocide. It was always degenerate.

1

u/Complete-Duty5579 Apr 26 '24

What a weird comparison to make

1

u/OmxrOmxrOmxr Apr 26 '24

Were you alive in the 2000s?

1

u/hiakuryu Apr 26 '24

Dude... umm hate to break it to you but did you like miss all of the 2000s to today?

1

u/thelordchonky Apr 27 '24

..You weren't around for Iraq or early post-9/11, were you? It was just like this, but worse in many cases. Especially since we didn't have SM or many good, quality phones to record.

1

u/Interesting-Rope-950 Apr 26 '24

You must be to young for 9/11.

0

u/middleagethreat Apr 26 '24

Naw, we had this thing happen in September 2001 that started all that racism.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

AIPAC heavily pressured congress to invade Iraq in 2003.
