Republicans are so god damn stupid it really pains me that they still exist

u/Successful_Ad5791 Mar 22 '24

I feel the same way about democrats too😂

3

u/sfcinteram Mar 22 '24

I’m sure you do

-16

u/Arza96 Mar 21 '24

I’m no republican but this mentality is divisive.

13

u/sfcinteram Mar 21 '24

I think dumbing yourself down with nonsense is divisive. Both sides are fucked, but if anyone ever tries to tell me that the Republican Party is less fucked or less racist/classist/corpo-friendly than the Democrat Party, I will disregard that persons opinions.

They are designed to be in opposition to one another on certain ideological principals (i.e. Abortion, Gun Control, Immigration, Etc) but when it really boils down to it both sides of the political leadership are bought and paid for to perform one task: retain the status quo. Keep the Wealthy Rich, and the Poor Broke.

I hear this all the time, but one party consistently votes for tax cuts on the wealthy and slashing social programs while the other opposes these things.. while I do agree with both being bad and working on the side of corporations to say they act in the same level of interest for their citizens is wild.

It is definitely a class issue first and foremost though, moreso than ideology.

I like you

This kind of nuanced, sensible, and even-keeled insight really brings a lot to the table.

If they'd stop acting like petulant children they'd stop being compared to petulant children. Balls in their court on this one.

If it walks like a duck and it talks like a duck... well i dont know what to tell you buddy.

You should check out r/conservative

Yall, we're supposed to hold ourselves to higher standards than the asshats in power because a rando on reddit said so! Cuz, yknow. We apparently have more power in a comment section online than they do in office. Lol

u/make_thick_in_warm Mar 21 '24

Holding a random redditor to a higher standard than every sitting republican is wild lmao

What do you bring to the table with your superior intelligence?

6

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '24

So do all these hearings, running an impeachment where they knew the info was from Russia and not real at all, reopening Afghanistan hearings based on Trumps orders but pinning it on Biden.. Really brings a ton to the table to waste time and money.

Eat shit. Well, in your case, continue to eat shit.

u/bookworm1999 Mar 22 '24

What nuance is there to have? Multiple republican congressmen have admitted that their plan isn't to govern it's to stop the government from running and the dems from leading

One party system sounds awesome, right guys?? /s

5

u/sfcinteram Mar 22 '24

Personally I’d go for like 5 or more left wing parties like in Scandinavian countries. Maybe throw in a center-right party like the Democrat Party just so you know who to avoid.

-11

u/crackpipeeater Mar 21 '24

Can we please stop falling for the 2 party system like a bunch of gullible 2 year olds. Your countrymen are not your enemy. Find common ground.

11

u/regular_gnoll_NEIN Mar 22 '24

Your countrymen are not your enemy.

Then stop voting in insurrectionists and those who want to strip basic rights from your fellow citizens, until then people are fighting to keep their rights from republican insanity.

6

u/totallynotstefan Mar 22 '24

It’s adoptable that you think republicans are well intentioned or genuine enough to ‘find common ground’ with. They do not want to govern, they just want the other side to lose. It’s even more important to them than winning.

-2

u/crackpipeeater Mar 22 '24

Yeah their not real people bro ur so right

1

u/sfcinteram Mar 22 '24

Strawman argument, he never said that. But if that’s your takeaway then that’s on you feller 🤷🏻‍♂️

u/crackpipeeater Mar 22 '24

Fallacy fallacy.

u/EldritchGoatGangster Mar 22 '24

Republicans are literally the enemy of everything America, specifically, and democracy, generally, stands for, at this point. Not to mention the enemy of equality, empathy, and progress. They're trying to tear the whole system down to replace it with a regressive Christian theocracy because they realize that the larger world is leaving them behind. Pretending like the modern republican party has anything to offer, any solutions for actual problems, or any value, is not helpful.

Conservative people should have a better option than these bozos to represent their values, but we're not talking about conservative people here, we're talking about the republican party.

The two party system is giving us the choice this November between an 81 year old senile pervert and an 80 year old senile pervert!!!

0

u/crackpipeeater Mar 22 '24

Rfk looks like the best choice no? He's the only pro palestine/not pro genocide candidate I've seen.

Bro use Google

-13

u/Fred_Thielmann Mar 21 '24

Why are they stupid? Because they have opinions that conflict with yours?

11

u/sfcinteram Mar 21 '24 edited Mar 21 '24

Because they have opinions that are inherently wrong and self-centered

-9

u/Fred_Thielmann Mar 21 '24

Self centered I can agree with. But inherently wrong? Like which ones?

7

u/Clifford_04 Mar 21 '24

How about their abortion policies?

-5

u/Fred_Thielmann Mar 22 '24

That’s a stupid policy. But name calling isn’t changing their mind or any other conservative’s mind

5

u/Clifford_04 Mar 22 '24

Doesnt make it not true.

-2

u/Fred_Thielmann Mar 22 '24

It doesn’t, but what good is it doing for anyone ?

3

u/Clifford_04 Mar 22 '24

Raising awareness of the truth?

-2

u/Fred_Thielmann Mar 22 '24

Pretty sure anyone who cares enough about politics can see the “truth” quite clearly

6

u/dgollas Mar 21 '24

How about their trans policies? How about their social safety net policies? How about their education and religion intermingling policies?

4

u/dystopian_mermaid Mar 22 '24

If you seriously have to ask, you either don’t live/aren’t from here, or you haven’t been paying attention to the last few years (or even decades for that matter). And should be embarrassed.

4

u/SellaraAB Mar 21 '24

Flat Earthers have opinions that conflict with mine too. They are also stupid. It's not that their opinions conflict, it's that their opinions are stupid.
