I don't know who downvoted this but yeah the lowww hood and wide windscreen are quite Ford GTish.

Cannot wait to see the liveries that teams come up with

14

Ferrari liveries are always great. Most of the teams come up with some modernization of old Ferrari designs or a variation on the classic center stripe Italian Tricolore.

Look out for the Cetilar Ferrari in IMSA, then, it's almost bound to be blue. Probablly metallic blue like their current 488.

Wait until you look at the car!

Ferrari and Oreca have gone completely mad with aerodynamics for 296 GT3. It's quite visible how Ferrari went from sleek and smooth shapes of cars like 360 and 430 to current generation of racers.

Hot

Damn it now I'mma checking my bank account again.

14

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '22

This is gonna sound odd but Ferrari's are starting to not look like Ferraris

23

u/meh_whatev Aug 25 '22

Weird because I find the 296 to very much look like one

26

u/knifetrader Aug 25 '22

Really? Here I was like: "Damn, this actually looks a lot like the 360 from 20 years ago."

3

u/Stelcio Aug 25 '22

360 was supersleek. This looks like an angry robot.

6

u/Liberator1177 NISSAN DeltaWing #0 Aug 25 '22

Funny, because I looked at it and thought "yep, looks like another Ferrari..."

8

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

They're no longer working with Pininfarina (their last was the 458) and you can kind of see a shift towards 'busier' more aggro styling in most models since then. I do think the Roma is drop dead gorgeous but stuff like the F8 and this are just a bit too fussy for my tastes compared to how elegant their predecessors were.

edit: I'm talking about road cars, obviously this is a race car so it's going to look like a race car.

I thought for the last decade or two that Ferrari stopped making typical Ferraris. From the sleek and sexy silver GT roadcars to the extreme track cars full of slits and aero. They're starting to look like what Ferraris would have looked like if they never stopped making them.

full of slits and aero... brings me back to the Testarossa, F40 and GTO

Beautiful C8R in red

1

u/LUS001 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR #92 Aug 25 '22

C8R is stunning. Seen in person at LM this year.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '22

hope it does better than 488 gt 3..

3

u/TheMasterOfSas Ferrari Aug 26 '22

What do you mean lol, the 488 has won literally every championship in existence

0

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '22

really? i know it has won lemans. forgive me i don't follow that much gt3. only got into it recently coz i got addicted to ACC game :)

3

u/TheMasterOfSas Ferrari Aug 26 '22

Yeah, alongside the Audi R8 it's the most successful GT3 car of all times basically

-2

u/UrsusSpelaus Ferrari Aug 25 '22

The windscreen looks huge, these are Tesla Model 3 proportions right here

-7

u/neddie_nardle Aug 25 '22

Hmmmm, so this is a render or a photoshopped 'repaint' of the actual test car, right? Because this shows the actual test car to be painted in red & black stripes! https://youtu.be/vYg7SvVT0Lo

6

u/EgenulfVonHohenberg Aug 25 '22

That was the first rollout in Fiorano several months ago. By now, the car has been officially revealed, including this red colour scheme, and continues to undergo testing at tracks like Mugello and Misano.

Considering how well the F175 has done in F1, I suspect this thing might win quite a few races ...

u/LUS001 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR #92 Aug 25 '22

Mean. Love it. Can't wait to see her at night.

More beautiful than the 488 ✅

(Supposedly) Less per km than 488 to run ✅

If there’s a check after “faster / more competitive than 488” then that’s a helluva package even w/ an upfront price premium.
