Even as a hardcore sportscar racing fan I can not be bothered to watch 13 cars race for 12 hours...

You could have one retirement per hour, meaning it would really be a last man standing race.

Or a turn one incident that would make one half either DNF or completely out of contention.

A 13 cars GTE-Pro-like grid would be sweet, but these 13 cars lmao

it looks like 13 cars across like 8 classes and 5 regulation sets too. Literally just the 2005 US GP but in sports cars

Definitely no money laundering going on

So basically everyone gets a podium...or do they do a single classification, also, can anyone tell me why it says "24h series" if the race is 12 hours?

Why run a 12 hour race for 13 cars in so many different classes?

Most of the organisation already happened, canceling it would probably be worse then just letting the race go ahead but yeah... This is gonna cost 'em...

I wonder who’s gonna win the gt3 class… and gt3 pro-am class… and gt3 am… and 992 am…

Lmao what’s the point of having a class with only one car in it

everyone is on the podium!!

u/Academic-Fish-3540 Dec 08 '23

That's genuinly why some guys compete, so they can say they're on the podium even though they cant drive 🥲

You get a class win! And you get a class win! And YOU...

why do promoters organize this kind of shitty races for so just few cars?
If a race gets no attention... just drop it. Life goes on.

Creventic throws races for am drivers. They don’t care about attention. Creventic is literally made for rich drivers to show up and race.

24h Series begins 2nd Middle East Season, again with 12 hours race in Kuwait! Race is on Saturday, so it doesn't directly collide with Gulf 12h, which also takes places this weekend.

Also I can confirm now that I will be doing spotter's guide with them for the whole leg, so Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as European Season in 2024!

You can download my last spotter's guide of 2023 here:

or

Thanks for support from all of you through this year!

This is actually depressing

What a waste of time and money.

Some cars literally dont have anyone else in their class? And for others its 3 at most i truly dont understand what the point of that is

Shoutout to my boys in the #85 CP Racing Merc. Top lads and very competitive.

Competitive against whom?

The entire GT3 field in the Creventic series. They are a fully AM, not factory supported team and have won the Middle East Trophy, Champions of the Continents, overall wins at Kuwait and Portimao last year and a handful of GT3-Am class wins.

They also run a decently successful NLS sister car with and have qualified several times for the 24H @ Nürburgring based on their NLS success finishing 17th overall at the 2022 race.

You don't need to qualify for the N24. You can just show up and do that one race.

FYI, manufacturer logos (under the car number and next to category) all show the Porsche emblem, not the respective manufacturers' logos.

This isn't giving me hope for the Bathurst 12hr next year... it seems that unless you're in North America or Europe, you're going to really struggle attracting a healthy grid.

u/Helpful-Ice-3679 Dec 07 '23

The 24H series isn't exactly doing brilliantly in Europe either. And holding the race on the same weekend as the Gulf 12 hours can't be helping.

Maybe more concerning for Bathurst is there are only five pro entries for the Gulf race, the finale of this year's Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Well not really. I'd argue Bathurst is way more prestigous than the Gulf 12h and it being the last race of the season, with more or less every title basically wrapped up already, doesn't help. On the other hand Audi usually brought quite a few cars to Bathurst, not sure how the grid will look next year though based on that.

Well, I hope the fans have some good support series to keep their spirits up!

u/Salatblatt1234 Dec 07 '23

What the hell is an AM+ driver?

2

u/Helpful-Ice-3679 Dec 07 '23

I was also curious about this, so here's the answer. The 24H Series regulations allow a driver who would be classified as silver/semi-pro based on their age (ie under 30) to request to the promoter to be moved to a different category. Am+ looks like it is that category. So it's for amateurs under 30 basically.

Assuming it's the same guy, Jack Barlow is an FIA silver rated driver, who won a couple of BRDC F4 races back in 2013; his last race on DriverDB was in 2015 and he's more recently competed on Love Island. Presumably the time out of racing is enough for him to be considered "Am+ ", and the FIA might downgrade him to bronze when he turns 30.

Hey at least, they're racing in Kuwait.

So is Colin White just going to hope to run long enough for the 138 to retire while not hitting drive time limits (if such a thing exists)?

Man, this is a shame. The 24H series has a lot of elements that I like, but this is just embarrassing. 13 cars for a 12 hour race? On a Grade 1 circuit? And most of the classes only having 1 entrant?

Creventic really needs to do an overhaul in their series to ensure team and fan loyalty. I like the format of a race series with just 24 and 12 hours races, but with this level of support I find it difficult to care. I hope they can find a way to increase their grid sizes and make their series more engaging.
