Bro ask chatpgt to build you a python based algo trader.. then give it access to your bank accounts l. What could go wrong. Passive income. Edit: :/

Thats my operating strategy until it prob causes the next financial crisis, too big to fail now, they will reshape society to find the use cases for their stuff. Ai agents trading for you etc is just the start. Whats that saying “people overestimate shit early on but underestimate it on the longterm” or something to that effect.

By the time your shitty Python trader has loaded up the market data, an FPGA-based trader with training going back to the 1990s has already made a million trades.

Big brain moment.

I mean, chances are all trading volume are 95% HFT. Why are we kidding ourselves focusing on the 5% human traders? You can trade US stocks in overseas exchanges to work around the hours or choose brokerages like IBKR for 24/5 trading.

I’m all for it. Overnight gap ups/downs driven by overseas markets are so stupid and this policy will make them less prominent going forward.

Just automate it yourself lol.

How do I get in on this automated train?

u/outofband 25d ago

You put money in the techbro’s wallet.

Prompt ChatGPT to handle trading for you, then stick your little peener in the headphone jack of your shitty pre-built PC while it loses money on your behalf. Voila, automation!

Meh - the rich are already arbitraging by trading after hours and selling at opening bell. This will just level that field. Also, the average person can’t really get ahead on low latency trading unless you have a worthwhile trade strategy, the know-how to build true low latency trade execution, and enough money to pay the right data centers for rack space on the same backplane as the exchange. For everyone else, you’re better off betting on earnings reports and medium to long term investments or just being happy with returns by trying to fast follow. This is already the case today and won’t really change with a 24 hour marketplace.

Which will most likely trigger the event that will tank the market, if regular folks get forcibly ousted of regular trading/investing as everyday the market will move away from them, then the flow of capital will inverse and leave the markets to other areas.

And liquidity is the engine of finnancial markets atm.

Do you think only US people trade on exchanges in USA? There are regular people all over the world and for me current times are in the middle of the night.

You're mistaken. Big players already have access to otc and after hours markets.

Regular people too should use automated trading, because if your strategy cannot be codified, then you are just trading on feelings which isn't really reliable or if somehow it is, then that also can be automated, especially now with the improving AI models.
Also a real WSB strategy is not really hard to automate:
if price == ATH then BUY() 😁
