u/Gurkeprinsen Oct 15 '24
Yea same. I know the answers without help, but I never trust myself enough to rely on my own brain.

u/KyprosNighthawk Oct 14 '24
I dunno, the number of times I put in "80085" isn't nearly as bad as the amount of actual ones that has been in my search history 😅

u/GoldieAndPato Oct 15 '24
Idk if you didnt get the joke or not. However i thought the same as you for a second and just wanted to tell you that the joke is actually on looking up simple questions. So for example looking up 5*8 would be embarrassing

u/Suspicious-Leg-493 Oct 15 '24

It is always best to double check your math using a calculator.
Your brain can miss something or just be wrong even on something basic, a calculator both has a history and barring the calculator being inherently messed up won't be wrong.
It's just a math version of measure twice, cut once.

That time I had to double check 4*1 still haunts me

u/Active_Engineering37 Oct 15 '24
I multiplied 20B by 1 for this little girl today and then divided 20B by 1 and wasn't totally sure about my division for a brief moment haha spooky.

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

I think gay furry porn is more embarrassing than 1+1

I use an abacus and a slide rule all the way up to finishing university. I don't recall them recording a history on their own.

My calculator history is mostly me “stimming” by writing the same things over and over with the letter options instead of paying attention in class.
“EARTH TO STONE.
ERROR
STONE TO SAND.
ERROR
BUT IM STILL
ERROR
HERE.
ERROR
AND STILL THE
ERROR
SAME.”

a teachee once took tha calculagor of a student and tolld it to the class. I think the easyest calculation done, was either 2+6 or 2*6
1
u/DinoAnkylosaurus Oct 15 '24
Nope. I'm in payroll. I'll check 2+3 if it seems appropriate, am I don't care if everyone knows. (Except that one guy, but that's on him.)
1
u/MReaps25 Oct 15 '24
You underestimate what I look up, calculator history might still be more embarrassing though
1
u/Beneficial_Map8176 Oct 15 '24
Considering I was in pre-calculus, and every now and then I’d have to type in 10+6=16 just to check, then yeah I kinda agree
1
u/tipips Oct 15 '24
Im the type of person to google anything idiotic a brain fart comes up with, so id disagree tbh, but yea sometimes things you put in your calculator are rather laughable.

u/RustSprout Oct 15 '24
1.80 x 3 was my last entry. I was trying to figure out if it was cheaper to buy three, two packs of paper towels or one, six pack. Spoiler alert. It was actually cheaper to buy four, two packs.

The fact that I'm not relating to this lol
I'm literally so lazy that instead of bringing out my calculator I'd rather actually do it all in my head
And,y'know,I'm actually quite good at calculating stuff quickly now

2 + 2... I know it's 4, but I need to check, just to be sure.
1+1=2...+1=3...+1=4... (cookie clicker: calculator edition)

As a engineer I will still put the most simple things into a calculator on the rare occasion I do hand calculation. need to make sure math hasn't changed on me.

The embarrassing part of my calculator history is the fact I'm on it for hours on end. But, hey, my calculator app is awesome

Hmmm, I'm not in highschool either but Ill give mine a shot.
170,000,000,000,000÷1,300,000,000=130,769.23076923
130,769.23076923÷60=2,179.4871794872
2,179.4871794872÷60=36.3247863248
I can't recall what I was calculations but I seem to have converted it from seconds into hours.
0.851+0.24979+0.2641+0.432+0.264560+0.2179=2.27935
No idea what this is.
152×83+10×100=13,616
I think this supposed to be a weighted average. But the normalization doesn't show.
3,267+48+144+72+72+24+60+144+72+48+24+24+72+48+24+36+48+48+72+48+48+72+216+48+48+96+48+72+72+144 = 5,259
This looks like credit card expenditures.

What’s more embarrassing is someone seeing in your browser history that you googled “49 +73” and yelled at you because “you have a literal calculator app on your phone”. I don’t know this from experience or anything.

u/Temporary-Tax Oct 15 '24
I'm an anime fan, my browsing history is far more cursed to the point I wouldn't admit this if I wasn't anonymous on the Internet

u/GameGuinAzul Oct 15 '24
Honestly at this point the wild stuff people search on the internet is tame compared to when you had a moment of doubt if 4+8 really equaled 12

u/Apprehensive-Cut9959 Oct 15 '24
Not my mum telling me she studied 6 hours straight and then had 1 last question she struggled for 20 minutes with...and then typed in a calculator 1+1.......AHAHHAHAHA
