100 Days - if I can do it, so can you!

I’ve made it 100 days! This is the longest I’ve gone without alcohol since I was 14 years old (I’m 35). If you had told me a year ago, or even six months ago, that I would go 100 days without drinking I would have scoffed. But here I am. I don’t know what the next 100 days holds for me, but I’d like to think it will result in another celebratory post such as this. Stay strong, my dudes.

I am almost to my century mark and like you I never thought on day one that I would last a week much less 80+ days. Keep up the good work. IWNDWYT

Congrats! How did you do it? Meetings? Support group? Lots of sparkling fizzy drinks?

I honestly don’t even know. I think having a supportive spouse and friends has been key. But at the end of the day, the willingness to life live in a new and different way is what’s kept me motivated. I still go to a bar trivia frequently and have been to many shows where I usually would be drinking and the urges just aren’t there like I thought they would be.

I don’t do AA or any other group and I suppose I have been drinking more sparkly water than normal.
