My new baby

Yesterday I added a new member to the family, meet Larsa (Klingon name from TNG).She is in her new forever home. She is a pure bread Manx that had a spinal deformation causing her to hop like a bunny, and there are slight issues with constipation. Any advice on how to properly care for my new baby would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on adopting such a sweet beauty! I love Larsa so much, please give her extra kisses and cuddles from me. 💖

Have you taken her to a vet yet?

Well I’m dumb and spelled her name wrong it’s Lursa haha she’s the sweetest girl.

She had an exam, extensive blood work, and was spayed while she was at the Humane Society. But I did make her an appointment for tomorrow morning to get looked at, and get care advice from a vet.

Her little white paw tips did it for me 😊

What a beautiful cat! Not sure what help this is, but watch the constipation. Years ago we had a cat who had his tail run over by a car. Mickey had to have his tail amputated but the problem was it pulled on the muscles of the rectum causing problems with passing harder stools. As he got older, Mickey would get backed up with like eight inches of hard stool that the vet would have to get out. I can’t remember exactly what we did to help soften the stool but I remember how hard it was on Mickey and on us watching him struggle. I suspect they have better treatments nowadays for the issue of hard stools. Good luck with your baby! ❤️

Someone gave me a tip to get her started on some good probiotics and she’s been great. It even says in her vet notes that she will always be constipated and have UTI but she is already 7 months old and hasn’t had a single issue.

Congratulations! Miralax works great for constipation (but of course ask your vet).
