feeling extremely miserable without any particular reason

hello lovely people:) I feel like I could really use your help because I’m just so, so tired lately. I’m used to pretending I’m fine, but especially during holiday time, it becomes- practically - a torture. I don’t know why I constantly feel this overwhelming sadness, especially ’cause my life is pretty normal, and I’m so embarrassed about it - but I cannot make it stop. It’s like I’m drowning in my own mind. since I don’t have anyone I could talk to about this I decided to share it here - maybe someone would be willing to write me some tips on how to cope with these kind of devastating thoughts. to anyone readings this, have a lovely day/night, whatever place you’re in<3

Maybe you are sad because you are always pretending you are fine, implying, you normally really don't feel fine? You say you are torturing yourself—couldn't that be why you are sad? Or whatever is making you sad that you are pretending is not making you sad, maybe it's that.

these kind of devastating thoughts

Is it devastating just to think you feel sad and can't pretend you don't anymore? I think that's almost an encouraging thought, because it means you can begin to face the truth of your real thoughts and feelings, and uncover the true source of the sadness.

these kind of devastating thoughts

I wonder what the thoughts that are in general making you sad are? If you knew what was making you feel sad in general (before the holidays), maybe you would be able to take action to improve things, or at least process the loss consciously.

Make sure you’re covering your basic needs: sleep, water, sunshine, vegetables, protein. Those things can affect your mood in hard-to-notice ways.
