is there voice chat in samp?

I want to get the game but I am wondering if you can talk to other players. Thanks!

There are servers that have them, I think if you see a lot of players theres a chance that, that server have a mod for it.

I always used to talk to my friends on one server through Skype when playing, not sure if that's still a thing or not, this was like 8 years ago.

Things have changed. There's a proximity chat / voice chat mod for SA-MP now. This has been around for one or two years, I guess. The server has to enable it after configuring voice server and stuff, then only the players could use it.

Just use discord these days. But I wish a proximity chat was a thing

Proximity chat is a thing for SAMP. Just search on YouTube 'SAMP voice' and you will find it. I can give you links but those are links which people uploaded to megafiles or some file hosters which may seen shady.

I used a russian developed mod before and it's somewhere in blasthacks site. CBA to find it from there.

Oh it wouldn't work o WTLS. The servers have to configure voice servers and enable the voice mode, then only players with that mod can talk to each other. Not all servers have this voice chat mod enabled.

The voice chat mod is an external thing that you have to install seperately. Not every server has voice chat mode enabled, so you can only use it on servers which has voice chat option. You can search 'samp voice' on YouTube.
