Amazon Wish List ππPlease help Orange Cows and Sweet Pepsi & her Kiddos get need some much needed suppliesπββ¬π·
Hi again, RC Friends! I hope each of you are doing well. β€οΈ
Firstly, all the kittens πββ¬ and catsπ are doing very well! No felines are sick or injured.ππ
However, some other issues occurred, to add onto an already challenging situation (partner's declining health, kidney failure).
Our heater went out 2 days ago, so it's been somewhat chilly in the house. Then, last night both toilets clogged up π€’ and both bathrooms flooded. We live in an old 1950's home and the plumbing is subpar. When it rains π§ right?
I've been up all night trying to fix the clogged toilets. My son tried to help until about 3am.
Luckily, we played it safe and moved Poppy and Olivia (and their things) at the first sign of plumbing problems, before their bathroom flooded.
They're temporarily in a crate in our kitchen, but it's a little chillier there vs their bathroom. The warm dog bed doesn't fit in the crate, either, π but at least they have fur and can cuddle together for warmth.
I have no idea how we'll get enough $ to fix the plumbing and the heater, but between the two, the plumbing comes first. We're crossing our fingers that the heater is a simple, inexpensive fix.
My partner's fmla/std just got approved, so he should hopefully get a deposit next Thursday. He hasn't received any income since about 10/26/24.
I, myself had applied for disability 1-1/2 years ago due to having multiple medical problems. Last week a disability caseworker left a message stating that things were favorable for me to receive benefits π€ππ, but before they could move forward and finalize my case, I needed to provide one more document from a former pension fund (that has "0" balance).
Unfortunately, the staff with the pension fund are going to take 31 days to mail me the document. My lawyer faxed them a request to expedite their process, so hopefully that will help. Perhaps the benefits will begin by February or March? π€π
So, despite our circumstances being very challenging since the end of October, it actually looks like there may be light at the end of the tunnel! π
Friends, if anyone's able to send the kitties some supplies, we'd be truly grateful.
Also, please keep us, the kittens and cats in your thoughtsπ―and prayersπ€ππ·
Cat Tax: Poppy and Olivia in the crate, Fanta and siblings courageously inspecting the rollator/walker. The wheelchair still terrifies them.πΉ

Boosting big time for all supplies needed to care for the kitties ππππππππππ»π»π»π»π»π»π»π» Now for you. You need help. I don't know where you live to make suggestions I know in Missouri there are rules about no heat or gas off,you didn't say it, but it is there. You have 2 sick and disabled people in the home I myself am disabled and help animals. I have learned where local help is. I think disabled people have the biggest hearts and put them before ourselves Rightly so as we took them in as family and are overall the most loyal to them. You are exceptional in this. I am so happy you reached out. Thank you! DM where you live. I am exceptional at research. I will find out resources near you. Please I have no money to give, but my friendship is yours and any research or fundraising ideas.

Aww, thank you.β€οΈ Your kind words brought tears to my eyes.
Luckily, I'm in San Antonio, so it doesn't frequently drop to freezing temperatures. It was 46f earlier this morning, but the house is 68. Looking at the forecast, it doesn't seem like temperatures will drop to freezing this week.
Thankfully, we still have electricity. I have a heated blanket that I use for joint pain, and rn Patches and Mittens are currently using it.
They also have a little portable heater in my bedroom. My partner doesn't want to use the heated blanket or little portable heater rn.
We also have 2 human heat pads, but worse case scenario, if it does get colder, we can use the round snugglesafe for cats (can be microwaved) and the big cat electric heat pad.
Tonight, we should have Amy use the snugglesafe since she's elderly.
Pepsi and her babies have 1 heat pad, but they mostly lay together when they get cold.
I'd have my daughter take my little portable heater to her room for Pepsi and Co, but the cats knock it over continuously, and Rootbeer chews the cord.
I'm sharing a heat pad with my yorkie rn (joint pain, body aches). My little parrots have individual heaters in their cages that I bought in 2021 when I was still working, so they're set. We're all set, too. β€οΈππ

Your doing great work - I am also physically disabled so I understand the difficult process of waiting for approval- I was lucky and got accepted the 1st time - but that period of waiting for benefits to start is brutal - Thank you for helping all the sweet cats in Texas - Thank heaven it doesnβt get too cold / But still need your heater- hoping for simple fix and BOOST for all the supplies needed- We have snow here now in Michigan- brutal cold -

You're absolutely correct, in that the wait is brutal.
I can't imagine how cold Michigan is, or having to shovel snow to get out the door.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. πββ¬πππ·

Aww, that means so very much to me π’β€οΈππ Especially right now, because I'm feeling overwhelmed with all my partner's recent medical problems and his day to day care and frequent dr's appointments. The sweet kitties are challenging and a lot of work, but they bring so much love and light into our lives.
Poppy and Olivia are still in the cat crate because our plumbing is still on the fritz, so we can't put them back in their bathroom yet.
A couple of hours ago, I sat on the floor (ouch) and opened the crate to scoop their litter, when Olivia fell right into my arms for cuddles. ππ
She used to be a tame-ish, but feral girl who was born outdoors and had spent all her life there. Now, she's an indoor girl, along with her adopted son, Poppy (who's her little brother).
As soon as we put their catio (thanks to u/busan73β€οΈ) together, they'll be enjoying sunshine π and fresh air π¬ on good weather days, but still sleep in the small bathroom at night. With the catio, they'll have so much more room to stretch their legs, too.
Also, because of the catio, they can live the rest of their lives here with us, so they can stay β€οΈ together. They're very bonded.
Thank you for all your kindness πππ
