Kitten outside of my house in Houston, needs someone to take him in. Was crying so much I had to come outside to investigate. Please reach out if you are interested!

I am in the market for a cat. I am not ready to do it for at least a month, though. I live in Conroe north of Houston. I Love the cat.

I wonder if there is a foster situation that could work with OP

that's awesome! ideally we would find someone before then, but maybe I can get someone in my life to foster him until then. if I didn't already have animals that would get stressed by it, I would myself. I'll update you definitely

Here is a kitten in Huston. They need someone to adopt it. It would be nice if you could give it a home

Sorry...don't check in often. OP = Original Poster i.e., the one who started the "thread"

What a handsome boy! Thanks for caring for/about him.
Post this on the Houston sub, too
Also, here are Greater Houston cat rescues that might know of someone who'd be willing to foster him until they can find a permanent home for him. Contact more than once (they're volunteer-run, so people don't always have time to call back), and contact all of them, even if they're 30-50 minutes from where you live.

A couple of groups that aren't on here: * Houston Area Cats and Kittens (Facebook), a group of fosters and rescues. * Friends For Life
u/catn_ip posted last year about how to rehome cats, and although the situations aren't 1:1 the same, the gist of the advice is solid (it worked!), and I think you'll benefit from it:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and this lil dude.

Houston Area Cats and Kittens is a key place to post if you haven't lined up a home for him yet! (I have a soft spot for Texas natives because my dad was born in Galveston.)
I did a little long-distance Reddit research (I live up north) and this is what I found out, from u/Freebird_1957, who was giving advice in a similar situation:
Please post on Facebook in the Facebook group Houston Area Cats and Kittens (HACK). Include the photos, your city/zip, how she was found, that she is not chipped, that she is friendly but shy, and include that you have four cats and are looking for a rescue to take her in. Be patient, please. Rescues are overwhelmed from kitten season, cats on death row, and abandoned cats. Keep posting to raise visibility. This group has 6000 members and all the rescues and fosters are on it.

Please contact a rescue so they can find an adopter. Lots of evil people pretend to adopt to get their hands on cats to hurt them.

He is so little. Can you keep him inside till you find a rescue? So many things can happen to this little baby. Thank you for caring for him. And please be careful who takes this little baby. So many cruel people out there. This little guy obviously trusts you!
