🤍🕊️Update🕊️Jevan & Carwyn are gone. Pan Leuk entered the Devore shelter & is now claiming lives. Sadly, shoddy shelter protocol & poor sterilization standards have caused it to spread. Over the rainbow bridge you go sweet babies. 🤍🕊️
With great sadness I have to share the loss of these 2 sweet angels. Often shelter residents contract diseases & viruses, it is common. However the lack of good health standards and sterilization at these shelters is nothing short of gross. Now every cat rescued is at risk. It just never ends. Reform cannot happen soon enough! Rest well little ones. 🤍🕊️

What f*k is wrong with them at Devore? They can spread this to their own animals, to the outside animal population . It needs to be shut down and sterilized, and these people trained in sanitary and the CARE of animals protocol. This virus can live a year on room temperature surfaces, not properly sanitized. Trust me we are furious and they’ve been repeatedly reported to the board of health. Unfortunately shelters manage to slip under the radar with one excuse or another or maybe they pay people off. Who knows? It’s always been this way. The courts even have let them off. It’s corrupt and it needs to stop!
They should be sued & prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for their abhorrent conduct and lack of accountability. Now they’re giving away animals this month that they KNOW have been exposed!!! They are the most vile low life evil people in animal welfare agencies. If I had my way I’d see them publicly hung! They don’t deserve to exist. Sorry I have zero compassion for animal cruelty and those that promote it!
I am going to make some inquiries. USDA, NIH, and CDC. This is a health, animal safety, and disease concern. I'll file a complaint if possible. This can not continue. Who is the state representative for Devore. They need to be called and written to. I don't have a problem talking to them. I have experience talking to senators and speaking before the EPA, among others, on environmental issues and working on various animal rights campaigns. There needs to be petitions and protests. You may already did all of this. How about ASPCA, Humane Society, among others.
Human Society USA must get involved entirely and fix this Shelters Must stop the Euthanasia and they must open no kill animal shelters. They do have a support from individuals and they should invest on pets life’s not on the stupid stickers calendars or other advertising junk. Everybody using cell phone and no one cares about papers mails anymore.They are wasting money on papers mails and other crap that can be use for pets rescue and shelters care.

Pretty sure they are busy with their cell phone on the job hours that’s why they always lack of good care of this animals and general health safety is not important for them.I saw the photo last week it taken by on of the shelters staff I forgot which shelter was and on the table there is a tiny pup and he sits on the exam table dozens of syringes near him and under. I was thinking about what kind of medical care this animal can get.What we don’t see is who knows?
FPV can be transmitted through body secretions like saliva, urine, feces, and vomit, as well as contaminated objects, clothing, and hands. The virus can live on surfaces like bedding, toys, cages, and clothing.

I can be transmitted by touching one cat and then another by Fomite. They do not sanitize themselves or the common areas of the shelter or the cage bars where many rub their faces and put their paws. They don’t always wear gloves while touching them either. We have photographs of them with no gloves holding the cats. They are completely negligent. They don’t even try to prevent the spread of diseases or contagious viruses. They do not care.
Jevan and Carwyn should be with us, happy, playing, and thriving. Instead, the Devore shelter enabled their murder. Sweet babies, we all loved you so much, and we are grieving for you. 🐾💔🌈🕊🫂
I don’t live near this shelter. I live in MN. I still tend to pledge for cats and kittens. I sure wish this shelter would get an overhaul and be a better place. So many kittens and cats needlessly lost there.
Just it says unhealthy shelter environment causing this Pity baby life’s But it is very preventable with routine real cleaning. Who is responsible for? We all know. Fish stinks from the head.
Poor sweet babies. I am so sorry. You were loved by all of us. Your little lives mattered. I am sorry more care wasn’t taken to stop the spread of illness. We send all our love with you both on your journey home. I am heartbroken you did not get to have a family and a long wonderful life
I think the reason they don't shut them down is because they need animal care and control, and the standards for an animal shelter are minimum. Clean and sterile are two different things. Animals need food, shelter, and water. That's it, I believe, legally speaking. Animal laws are still in the dark ages.
Years ago there were volu teers that took it upon themselves to clean the shelter with a sterilizing solution.
Nooooo. Rest in peace, babies. At this point why even call it a shelter. Fricking ban this place and let these cats live their lives. At least they can choose where to die rather than being caged here forever being at the mercy of these monsters 24/7
