This is not a forum for debate, argument, and or scolding of contributors for perceived mistakes they may have made in managing their cat's care. We are here to provide a safe place for understanding and support. We greatly appreciate the cooperation and respect for this community.
The cats in the photos are the strays from the neighborhood that we care for and feed. We're almost out of food for them and urgently need to buy more. This week, we had too many expenses, so we currently have no money at all.
Some of them are very friendly, others a bit more skittish. We'd love to bring them inside, but unfortunately, we don't have the space. We have a project to expand the facilities and create a special area for them, but for now, it's completely out of our reach. The best we could do was to get them a dog house, put beds inside, and place hot water bottles every night (winter is starting here in the southern hemisphere).
They deserve much more, but at the very least, we want to guarantee their daily food. Please, if you can help us, we would greatly appreciate it.
I forgot to add: we have an agreement with the local butcher shop; they let us know when they have extra chicken or meat so we can pick it up and cook it for the cats. However, lately, they haven't had anything available to donate or even offer at a discount. This has also impacted our budget, because while it's not a huge amount, it has often helped us in a pinch. Now we depend solely on what we can buy.
Just so you know - as soon as the hot water bottles cool off they’ll basically zap the body heat from the animals laying against it. We were warned in school that they should only be used in emergency and you have to keep a close eye for cooling off. It’s really sweet all you’re doing for these cats!
Update: I already ordered the food, and it will arrive tomorrow. They have enough until then, so they will be fine. I will make a new post when the food arrives.
