Question What happened to Fenton and Melvin in the epilogue? Did they survive? 🤔

We saw Melvin and his idiot brother Fenton in a single mission in chapter 3 but dont see them at all after that? I curious to know what happened to them and their moon shine selling business.

Unfortunately, Fenton kept killing people. Didn't know his own strength. Melvin had to put him down. It was a kindness, really.

I loved that one scene when Melvin walked off into the sunset with one last bottle of Moonshine and his smoking gun after shooting Fenton. God. Such visual poetry. Bravo Vince.

I've only been around for 16 and I've know it exists for all of 3 weeks and I'm reading it as a book in English class

Well, good news! Now you don't have to...

You still should, though, it's really good.

Wait, were you serious? You won't get the reference unless you read the book, so I was sure that was a joke.

I noticed the similarities between Fenton and Melvin and George and Lennie almost immediately when we were reading the book, so I was fairly certain this was of mice and men

Ah. Well I can't say I regret "spoiling" a 90 year old classic, but hopefully you can still enjoy the story anyway.

Melvin moved to Austria, changed his name and had a son named Adolf

Fenton moved to bosnia and accidentally shot some archduke after they had a disagreement over moonshine

Melvin and Fenton then mysteriously disappeared…

While I'm not sure what happened to Melvin exactly, I do know Fenton made it to Tahiti and lived out his days peacefully till he died of old age in Chapter 83
