I had it on mute and was playing the theme of Edward Scissor Hands in my head. I'll admit I half expected something or someone was gonna kill you. Nice vid 👌

Those screams and “baby cries” are just the normal noises of foxes.
2
u/IRISH81OUTLAWZ Jun 23 '21
No doubt. I grew up on a black angus cattle farm in northern West Virginia and I can remember the first time I ever heard a fox cry out in the middle of the night. I was camping out in the yard on the edge of the fields at like age 10 or 11. Scares the shit right outta me lol
3
u/EzziBA Jun 26 '21
I have the same story, except in a different state, I was sleeping on a trampoline at the edge of our yard, and I was seven.
From the pasture ten yards from us, I heard something screaming over and over again. I had never heard anything like it before and in the dark I could see two yellow eyes now turned in my direction.
I leaped off the trampoline-- leaving my sisters to die-- and sprinted to the house convinced that I was being run down by a demon in the night.
2
Jun 23 '21
Lol. The animal sounds in red dead are so accurate that my wife and I were able to know what animals were out in the woods when we went camping. I love it when a game pays attention to all the little details.
1
u/Jmk1981 Jun 25 '21
I almost wish they’d remove fox calls from the game. There’d be half as many posts here.
23
16
u/BoltsHouse Jun 23 '21
I encountered it in story mode….also heard what sounded like some bird call to me so didn’t pay much attention to it. Also got slight but noticeable ambiance/music change
13
u/HellsGates420 Jun 23 '21
You've seen that in storymode? I've spent many days and nights in tall trees hunting everything including Skinners. Found a pit with quite a few body's dressed like circus people or something, combed every inch and many play throughs and havnt seen that light at all.

u/Lyndon_Monroe Jun 23 '21
The mass grave in Tall Trees is the Blackwater Athletics Team. There's a newspaper article about them.
3
u/NoAd1296 Jun 23 '21
Wait what? Where’s that at?
6
u/coffee-please Xbox One Jun 23 '21
You can read an article in the newspaper that describes the missing athletic team. Spoiler/location below:

It sounds like the bleating of a small animal, like a crying sound. Don’t think I’ve heard that anywhere else.

u/baskarcoyote PS4 Jul 17 '21
A month late but,
Those "baby cries" are from a Cougar. Ive ran into them plenty of times while i hear that sound. It also surprised me b/c the first time I heard it was a year into playing the game. Not a fox cry. Cougars are known to make sounds that can either sound like a human infant or a screaming woman.
2
Jul 17 '21
Wow, thanks for this! I didn't know cougars were in Tall Trees. And awesome fact about their sounds.
2
u/baskarcoyote PS4 Jul 17 '21
I usually run into one by John's property, on the road east of it, but i guess thats technically the Great Plains still. But you can also usually find one in northern Tall Trees in a rocky area that is later called Cochinay in RDR1.

There was a similar post on rdr2mysteries and someone said it was something to do with an online lobby. I'm not sure if that's the answer, but it was the only thing that made sense
Was this online or story mode?
Edit: after watching the video again, it was not story mode because of the cards on the top right and the message that popped up about your camp

Remember
This was the habitat for sasquatch's In undead nightmare aswell as the home of the skinner brothers
23
u/obsterwankenobster Jun 23 '21
In RDR1 it was also a really great place to get killed by a bear while skinning another bear
18
u/sharkbyte_15 Jun 23 '21
Then proceed to fight 20 more bears immediately after that
6
u/obsterwankenobster Jun 23 '21
There was another spot, whose name is eluding me, that was a massive wolf spawn and you couldn't even skin them because they came so fast and furious
3
u/sharkbyte_15 Jun 23 '21
No joke one time in RDR so many bears were spawning I ran out of shotgun ammo and then i proceeded to get mauled to death because I had no dead eye left and there were 3 bears coming at me

Probably a glitch but it looks beautiful

u/AceAlger Jun 23 '21
That's what I think.

u/peanutbrainiac Jun 23 '21 edited Jun 23 '21
It’s not a glitch, that’s how light behaves in fog
There’s a lantern on the ground that emits yellow light. Have you people seen yellow fog lights on a car?
What makes this a glitch?
Edit I forgot the idiots on this subreddit are worse than aids
19
u/sugarwave32 Jun 23 '21
It is a glitch
6
u/DeadSeaGulls Jun 23 '21
More of a "that's how some lantern light behaves in snow/fog and we didn't address it because this part of the map only sees snow during special events."
-4
7
Jun 23 '21
The light being there is the glitch.
-7
u/peanutbrainiac Jun 23 '21
The lantern being there is the glitch? Or the brightness of the light is the glitch?

Near the end it sounds a lot like a baby crying to me. Very interesting, nonetheless.

Likely just a weird glitch tied to the campfire but at the same time Tall Trees is cursed as all hell. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is more secrets there we don’t know about

u/mahboahlenah Jun 23 '21
Looks like a glitch with a lantern’s light shooting upwards. I’m definitely hearing screaming in the background tho so idk

Is it snowing in tall trees is this online??
2
Jun 23 '21
Its online. Looks like rain tho.
1
u/lemmel6978 Jun 23 '21
When did this happen because i dont think its snowing online right now
2
u/rbrowning79 Red Dead Online Jun 23 '21
It only snows online when it’s winter time. I think it does it sometime in either November or December in the US.
2
u/lemmel6978 Jun 25 '21
Or when Rockstar deside to make it snow lol
1
u/rbrowning79 Red Dead Online Jun 25 '21
I’d love to see snow in game right about now, with summer in full swing irl. It’d be really cool. Lol
2
u/Jws0209 Jun 23 '21
Would this have to do with the yellow arrow at the Sundial?
1
u/TinyRainSpirit Jun 24 '21
I didn't even consider this, I'd we find lights of any other colors I'll be sold

Jun 23 '21 edited Jun 23 '21
Any post like this found in RDO I just assume is a glitch, had you been playing story this would be something significant
Edit: and all you nitwitts sinking time into RDO are the reason we’ll never get single player dlc. Such a shame. Yes, I am very salty
5
u/RollAndTattieScone Jun 23 '21
Lol they're mad but you're right, there are some neat little details in online to show it's set a year earlier than story but that's about as much as we're gonna get from it. That's not even getting into how famously glitchy online mode is, the sub would honestly be better without online content posted on it, period.
6
u/MaoJen_Riimez Jun 23 '21
Tell me you have no friends to play online with without telling me you have no friends to play online with
7
u/ThinkHappyThoughts15 Jun 23 '21
Rockstar not developing any more single player dlc in favor of online is why we aren't getting more sp dlc, not cause people are playing online. I'll never play online, but I dont blame those who do for the lack of single player support.
1
u/Youthanizer Jun 23 '21
Dimwits playing a braindead online mode and spending money on it is the reason they will never develop single player DLC.
11
u/danni_shadow Jun 23 '21
I prefer single player and never play online, but calling people who prefer online "dimwits" is uncalled for.
Different people like different things. Sometimes people happen to like a different mode than you. It's not some grand conspiracy on their part to deny you DLC. Blame Rockstar, not the players who happen to enjoy the game that way.
-6
u/Youthanizer Jun 23 '21
Different people like different things.
Yes, and the people that like the online component are uneducated plebs lol
I blame both of them.
3
3
u/twisted_meta Jun 23 '21
You aren’t substantiating yourself as the proposed enlightened being you are
4
u/Haymac16 Jun 23 '21
Imagine:
Thinking you’re entitled to single player dlc
Blaming the reason you’re not getting said dlc on the people just playing a game.
Rockstar spent 8 years on RDR2, maybe they want to take a break from the game. If a game company wants to make new games or content they will. People playing online aren’t to be blamed for not getting single player dlc just like people playing GTA V aren’t the reason GTA VI hasn’t come out yet. People in the gaming community can be so damn entitled it’s baffling.
2
u/Nope_God Jun 23 '21
The reason we'll never get single player DLC is for the people who pay for microtransactions. Playing online is completely harmless. Stop being so toxic.
5
u/ThinkHappyThoughts15 Jun 23 '21
Just like with GTAV this was planned from the beginning by Rockstar. Granted online and those who buy shark cards/gold is a waste of time and money, it's really not the players fault that Rockstar is greedy as fuck.
-3
u/Youthanizer Jun 23 '21
It is. Consumers need to vote with their wallets. GTAV was supposed to have DLC but it was scrapped. Truth is, there are more dimwits who enjoy dumb as rocks multi-player than there are people that play the game for its story.
2
u/smorgasdorgan Jun 23 '21
Are you really that salty over not getting to pay for more content to a game that's already finished? Jesus. I remember just a few years ago you people were bitching about having to pay for a game AND the DLC because it meant you paid full price for an unfinished game. Besides, you people just want another Undead Nightmare. Absolutely unoriginal dimwits.
1
u/Youthanizer Jun 23 '21
When people say DLC, they mean story DLC, like the multiple award winning Ballad of Gay Tony or The Lost and The Damned. Nobody ever complained about that lol
Stop licking the boots of multi-million dollar companies and defending dimwitted whales that are addicted to spending money on crappy online modes.
4
u/smorgasdorgan Jun 23 '21
I'm not defending companies or dimwitted whales, as I can't stand paying for extra shit on something I already paid full price for. I don't do DLC (SP or online) unless it comes packaged with the game in a GOTY edition or something. My point was all I ever see on here in terms of DLC requests is "Undead Nightmare part 2 plz!"
3
u/Isonus Jun 23 '21
I play Red Dead Online because I have friends I enjoy hanging out with in there. We’ve had more fun and met more lifelong friends that way. There’s a whole posse of ten of us now and we’ve gotten so close that we’ve supported each other through the pandemic, helped each other find new jobs, comforted each other during lost family members, etc. We’re a tight knit group for life because of that game.
Yet I’ve never spent a dime in RDO.
Just because people enjoy things differently than you does NOT make us dimwits. Stop insulting people like a petulant child just because you aren’t getting what you feel you’re entitled to.
Also, YOU are the one choosing to miss out on potential fun. You realize there are some story elements in online you could be playing? Granted, Rockstar really dropped the ball on them and I’m frustrated as hell that they’ve basically given up on the game. But that’s all on them as a company, not on those of us who play it to connect with our friends.
2
u/Nope_God Jun 23 '21
Online is fun as heck with friends, and even to make new ones, not gonna lie, but there is a lesson to learn: Don't buy gold bars, and even less, Shark Cards.
2
2
u/thecoolestjedi Jun 23 '21
Lol there’s reasons to enjoy rdo, we probably never were gonna get single player dlc since gta v
1
u/Nope_God Jun 23 '21
You are so salty you don't even seem to know how things works... It's not the people who play online the problem, is the people that spend their money on microtransactions, playing online is as fine and harmless as it gets.
1
Jun 24 '21 edited Jun 24 '21
I’m fully aware of that, but ultimately, the less people that played online the better chances single player dlc had. That ship has certainly sailed, we’ll never get dlc. Keep playing online it doesn’t matter anymore

I’m probably going to get downvoted for this but I don’t understand how you people like 3rd person, the horse and player block like half of the screen and you lose pretty much all controls of your character, yeah it’s good for looking at your player and surrounding but is it really worth losing movement controls

u/TinyRainSpirit Jun 24 '21
That's interesting I've never really used first person, I'm glad it's good enough people can really play both ways

1st person is really good but I can’t stand it while on horseback, my horse will fell in love with trees, especially in Tall Trees
