Investigation For The Love Of God, Can We Start Investigating The Supposed Indian Ghosts Of Valentine Mentioned In-Game?

People talk about the ‘Valentine curse’ a lot in game but I have never heard or seen anything odd around the town.
Has anyone found the ‘artifacts’ around town?

You get an arrow head from the dream catchers quest.... Does that count? Maybe the fertility dolls?

Not sure. I assumed it meant stuff like you can find at different points of interest, not necessarily items. The ghost canoe sounds cool though.

People ma disagree with this, but a lot of these mysteries are really just storytelling devices and won’t turn up anything. But if there is something to actually be found concerning this post, I would love to see it because the whole area is spooky.

Came here to say this. While it would be cool, my guess would be that this is just world building.

Agree. Seems the games pretty straight forward about what it wants to you to see. Some people look in too deep

I remember Karen talking about it after visiting Valentine in chapter 2. She says something about an Eagle or Owl being involved.

And a grave

Idea: kill eagle, put corpse on random graves in town

Someone encountered a Great Horn on a rock, that screeched and summoned wolves. But, that was posted ages ago. If anyone has seen anything similar, we might have a Manitou situation on our hands.
Has anyone squated at Fort Riggs or the adjacent river until 2am? That seems like the magic hour for ghosts to spawn.

One time near valentine in the woods I came upon a magnificent white deer that couldn’t be analysed (R1) and then a pack of wolves attacked me

There's also an in-game newspaper article that refers to odd supernatural sightings near the river related to an Indian curse, I'm pretty sure it's the first newspaper you can buy in Valentine, towards the bottom after the fold (I'm at work so can't confirm).
I camped at the river nearest Valentine until night but didn't observe anything out of place.

I don’t know why I unconsciously started reading this in Ryan’s voice from buzzfeed unsolved.

Could be related to that drunk ex soldier guy you meet during a chance encounter that has the Native American bracelet or whatever it was. He expressed guilt over his past actions.

NPCs I encountered in the town mention a ghost canoe in a river around Valentine, never checked it out though.

This sort of reminds me of something I saw on tv awhile ago about an actual curse on a river in Maine (if one believes in curses). I think I learned about it because of that show based on Stephen King’s works, Castle Rock. The curse was either mentioned in the show itself, or it was mentioned in one of the “behind the scenes” videos.
Here’s a link to the story. This thing in RDR2 might be a reference to the real-life Saco curse? If it sounds plausible to anyone else, maybe someone could test it by going swimming around there, or just wandering around the river to see if a ghost appears or something?

The link leads nowhere but cool insight! I’ll definitely be looking into this

Rockstar loves putting spooky ghost easter eggs, so i'm sure this aint a red hearing.

If there a river near valentine? The only body of water I can remember is the area you go fishing with Jack, and that's no where near valentine. Or an I being dumb and confusing parts of the map?
There's a ghost train, ghost people and I imagine a ghost horse in the game somewhere, so a ghost canoe wouldn't be too far fetched.

Theres also an article in one of the newspapers from valentine that said people have seen phantom canoes in the water. Which area of water it doesn't say. Thought this was very interesting! I have seen indians on horses on the mountain cliff overlooking valentine.

Probably cut content, but let’s hope they follow up on this sort of stuff post launch.
