Realistically, if it is localised to Australia then just using a VPN is the workaround. As long as the service doesn't think you're in Aus then they cant demand Australian IDs.

Hopefully these tech dinosaurs don't think of anything harder, otherwise it's gonna take a bit of effort to dodge.
