question I use ChatGPT without making an account - is this risky regardless?

It’s usually just for fun, asking for fake reviews on my fanfics and then laughing at them. But a year of two ago, I’d sometimes vent on there about my family. I was 17 and couldn’t find anyone else to talk to. Stupid idea, sure. Even now, if I use it enough that it blocks me from further use like a week in and then I have to sign up, I’ll just delete it and redownload it. My question is, does data have a name to put it to if you never signed up?

Thank you for reading.

Why not use a burner email and turn off chat history?

yes and no. your device is easily identifiable making it possible for OpenAI (microsoft) to theoretically easily piece together all of your chats.

The question is do they do that? They probably could because their EULA allows it.

This is what chatgpt says:

When using the free version of ChatGPT without an account, OpenAI still collects some data to monitor usage and ensure the service runs smoothly. If you redownload the app or access it again after reaching the limit, OpenAI might be able to piece together some information based on device identifiers or other technical data. OpenAI’s privacy policy outlines that data collected can be used for improving the service, monitoring for abuse, and ensuring compliance with legal obligations. This data might be shared with third-party service providers who assist in these tasks, but it is generally not shared with other entities without your consent unless required by law12. If you’re concerned about privacy, you might consider using temporary chats or disabling model training, which can limit the data stored and used by OpenAI3. Is there anything specific you’re worried about regarding your data privacy?

Absolutely. Here are the primary keys (identifiers) that follow you while you are browsing to any site:

IP address + Cookies + Browser Fingerprint

Any one of these will uniquely identify you. Whatever personal details you give to any site while the above remain unchanged, then count on the service sending them to the trackers they are a member of. Every other site that uses the same tracker will know that name--as well as the tracker, or course.

I was wondering, does ChatGPT gives you the answer you really needed or you was looking for or does it give you some answer you not sure if it is the right answer.? If you don't like to be tracked by a AI ChatApp, why not using your own mind and get answers? Well at least if you investigate yourself to an issue, you can be sure, it is the right answer you looking for.
